Login timeout, Customer support no help at all

When I try to log into the game, I always get a login error that says login timeout. Customer support is only asking for my information, and not giving me a legitimate answer or solution. I am fustrated, as just this morning I set up my subscription, and now I cannot play the game that I just possibly wasted $15 on.

Bro I feel like a chicken with his head cut off, NOW needless to say i had beta and they DID call, but beta wouldn't let me past the startup update stupid f%^$#@ thing, NOW I have paid for the game, and have made it in game ONLY to login TIMEOUT. uh huh, well, I found customer support no help at all. That is why I decided to take it to the forms. I have heard other people are experiencing this problem, and I wondered if ZOS could help.

    Hi @Locksoli‌

Where do you currently have the game installed? We have seen some issues where this error can occur when the game is installed on a different partition then the OS.

There could also be an issue where it's timing out because the launcher isn't updating successfully. You can try the following to get updates to go through.
    1. Close both the game and the launcher
    2. Open the game installation directory
    3. Open the folder named "Launcher"
    4. Inside the "Launcher" folder, there is a folder named "ProgramData"
    5. Rename the "ProgramData" folder to "ProgramDataBackup"
    6. Open the launcher and download update
    7. Click "Play"

Please let us know if the troubleshooting above works.

bille, I have tried that, and it had no effect. I did a complete reinstall of the game however, and that seemed to fix it. Other than the login information incorrect error...

Since this is getting some bites I would like to refer to my own situation and btw the log in error 301 is a firewall issue

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/76632/7-days-and-game-wont-let-me-play#latest

The port forwarding may help with people with routers too so keep in mind if you have one well we have routers but I mean like netgear and linksys 3rd party routers

I also tried port fowarding 24100-24500 tcp and udp 24131-24507

    Checked DHCP
    release/renew my ip addtress
deleting depot file and re downloading
    tried repair
what else have I tried? Oh did I mention sithis ya he told me to eff off so no more kills for that guy

If you have read this far and are having problems like the rest check the link out those are the things that havnt worked for me BUT may work for you so just check it out if it turns out to be a waste of time im sorry but I tried to help

With all these log in issues its complete bull. Should have waited like a lot of people stated during the beta phase. At least in beta I could log in... Instead of pushing to get it released before WildStar and EverQuest Next Landmark to be the next big MMO. How about the next awesome ESO RPG? Server maintenance, bank slots missing, items missing, new patches, guild recruitment chat being turned off... at least they can play and get what they have paid for which is a game that is to be maintained through a sub fee.

Just to get to the nuts and bolts of what I think the problem is in the report log is...

But I don't know how to fix it I've looked many places and many late nights. I'll tell ya one thing I have learned a lot. But I feel like I'm learning to be a support tech which I don't think i should have to be doing to play this game.

I had the same problem. For me it worked as soon as I uninstalled the esohead addon. Try uninstalling Esohead if you have it installed,

@INFBeast youre on the right track. I am also seeing launcher.bethesda.net [54.217.220.147] down. I also tested through a few online ping sites and they all show it down. This seems to be a bethesda issue and it would be nice if they would get it fixed.

This is the latest email I got from support so I hope it helps you. Didnt work for me still so since the game went live I have only had 5 hrs of playtime...
Navigate to your "My Documents" or "Documents" folder in the start menu.
Delete the folder named "Elder Scrolls Online". This is a settings folder. It will repopulate when the game launches again.
Navigate to the "C://" drive on your computer from "My Computer" or "Computer". - Open "Program Files (x86)" - Open "Zenimax Online" - Open "Launcher" - Delete the "Program Data" folder.
Close out of all screens and return back to your desktop.
(These next steps are known as "Clean-booting" your computer and will disable all programs and services that start with your computer that are not the basic Microsoft services. During these steps, please pay special attention to the note that will inform you on how to reverse these changes, if you so choose to. You do not need to reverse these changes and no program on your computer is deleted. They simply do not start, when your computer starts; you will need to manually start them.)
Hold the Windows Key and press the letter "R"
Type in "MsConfig" into the Run box that opens and press enter.
Press the radial button next to "Selective Start-up"(Take note of where it says "Normal Start Up". If you press this and then "Apply" and "ok", then restart your computer, all changes made in this tool during these steps will be reversed.)
Uncheck the "Load Start-Up Items" checkbox.
Press on the "Services" tab located at the top of the box.
Check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" checkbox.
    Press the "Disable All" button.
Press Apply and Ok and you will be prompted to restart your computer.
    Please restart your computer.
Launch your game and run the "Repair" from the launcher's game option, which are located in between the news title and the news articles.
