Hey there
I am impressed too see the huge amount of different armorstyles we have to play with. Really dev's, I'm speachless. However, I find a bit sad that the model has to change just because we pick a different material. Changing the texture I can understand, and do not want to change, as steel is different from iron for example, but why the basic model?
I love the Altmer heavy helmet for example. It looks awesome in Iron and Steel. But as I level up it's neccesary to upgrade, and I have to eventually use Orichalc. Doing so I suddenly allso appearantly need to add all this ugly 'bling' to my helmet with wings and a faceplate and whatnot. Why cannot I just craft the helmet I've always crafted but with a new material?
The same goes for Nord heavy armor. Looks awesome at lower levels with a bit of arms showing, and now I have this full body scalemail. It looks ok, not to 'blinged' out but I wish I could remove the armscales. To be honest, my character looks less and less intresting as I level up. Less like a adventurer, and more like a parade guard. And I don't wan to nerf myself by using cool armor with bad armor stat.
What I wish for is a way to chose the model when crafting, not texture. I do not want a veteran running around looking like a noob. I you're wearing armor of high material it should show. But simply the model. Other players maybe enjoy the late level models, and would love to have them on lower levels just as I wish for the opposite. This would add a lot more diversety to our characters, and give us more fun in customizing them.
I do know however that this isn't a simple task, as each model has it's own unique texture, if not several, and it would probaly be a lot of work to implement this. But I still wish for it.
PS: English is not my mothertounge .. just ignore misspellings and bad grammar
