any point doing pvp yet?

Hi, I'm new to mmos, I get the impression that in Cyrodil there will be many hardcore players at high levels, whereas I'm level 15 and still learning - is there any point in even doing alliance or will I get annihilated instantly?? Is there a way of balancing things?

The majority of campaigns are still at one of four bars for population size. Everyone's waiting until they get to 50. Yes, absolutely jump in now. There's a wealth of skyshards that'll get a lot harder to nab once the inevitable gank squads set up around them.

Just from completing the tutorial in Cyrodiil,
you get 2 skill points, over 500 gold, and over 800 Alliance Points.
Just make sure you don't accidentally skip the tutorial!

Ok, I'll get stuck in tonight. Before I start, what can I expect? Will I be part of a bigger army of players at various levels, fighting other armies if players at various levels?

A couple of things to remember about Cyrodiil;
1. Your attributes are increased, but not your power. This means you can't kill higher level players faster, you just won't die as fast.
2. Seige weapons are expensive, so remember to pick them back up and keep them safe!
3. Again, the tutorial is invaluable if you're new to PvP, and it gives some great extra rewards. When you get the quest, there'll be 2 people to talk to;
One of them progresses the quest, the other person skips it!
4.Run with a zerg, but don't become part of it; BE AN INDIVIDUAL

And, most importantly,

5. You are worth more alive than dead.
Don't sacrifice yourself by running against 5 enemies,
Unless you want to spend 50% of your time in Cyrodiil running back to the battle!

You need to sneak a lot, otherwise you will die even more quickly. Using ranged weapons (bows, staves) also helps.

If you are defending a keep follow the skirmishers jumping off the wall to flank the enemy catapults..It's more fun than trying to dodge ballista bolts on the wall.
