VAMPIRISM: BE WARNED

That 50% fire damage debuff? Yeah that's nasty, very, very nasty, in a dungeon like Blessed Crucible, you will be one shot, multiple times, on multiple bosses(Namely the fire beetles, and the last boss, The Lava Queen.) and when I say 1 shot, I literally mean you will be 1 shot, especially if you're a melee too, because you will be forced to stand in the danger zone of those hard hitting fire attacks, where they might do half health to your non-vampire group mates, it will do 95% + of your health, and you will always be a pain your healers backside. You have been warned.

Well , ofc that will happen OP.

Tons of mobs use fire in the game , reason being a vampire can be such a pain.

well, what did you think was going to happen with a 50% fire damage buff, ...more butterflies? I have read more than one review that mentions vampire's downfalls and also mentions the abundance of fire damage in the game.

Yup , it is perfectly fine.

It was your choice to be a vampire , now it is a wise decision to avoid places where you know enemies will keep using fire.

And you are going to suffer in PvP also, DK will have a field day fighting you.

Just like in any other ES game , being a vampire got perks AND problems. Be glad you dont take dmg just being outside in the sun.

Lol look at that whiner.... ill tell you one truth about making vampirism lovely

1 play a dark elf (do i look like i care about fire with a + 1500 to my fire resist?)
2 play a caster in light armor (i got very high magic resist anyway)
3 play a breton (excellent overall magic resist)
4 Enchant your jewelry with fire resistance
5 do a mix of all those last 4 (vampirism isnt a spec you should play with minimum fire resistance if you dont gear or spec accordingly expect to die... and often)

Either way you should have about the same resiliance to fire in light armor as a guy in leather armor with no malus. If you play a race that has resistance to fire by default aka breton and dark elf the debuff will be unsignificant regardless of armor. If you also run some fire resist enchanted jewelry you will be good to laugh at the dragonknights.

I did blessed crucible as a khajiit vampire caster last night and i was nearly always last character standing at the lava queen... just learn to dodge and Watch for the spells, it will hurt you but it wont kill you if you actualy know how to avoid most of the harmfull effect.

How are you going to counter fighters guild members?
I wrote a poem that I titled, "The ganker's delight."

As you lay upon the ground, cry not little pawn.
The pain will pass as quickly as my blade did take you,
but my delight will last and you will respawn.
My heart simply cannot contain my joy, when I ply my trade.

The fault lies with you, your skill was lacking.
Now your salt is mine forever, can't you hear the laughing?
Once you were so proud and now you are reduced to this.
    A miserable, loud deuced fool.

With every tear you drip, with every excuse you let slip.
All of your insecurities and worries bring a smile to my lip.
From your despair I have ripped endless glories,
but our affair is over now. Be afraid for I will return for more.

I have received many titles, to my allies I am The sniper Emperor and Grand champion hero of the Pact. However these titles mean little to me, it is the ones given to me by my victims that I prefer. To them I am "Xv1er", "trash", "no balls", "zerger", "noob", "cringe", "no skill", "camper", "100% new", "the reason this game is dying", "pathetic", "a sack of piece of [snip]", "mediocre", "absolute inbred", "beyond a virgin", "ganky dork", "fat smelly 40yr old virgin", "little girl", "daddy", "exploiting loser", and every [snipped] word known to man.

the stun has diminishing returns and the spells hits for low damage... ill just break out of your ability shield myself and start drinking you dry

The damage increase from guild is fairly good but not enought to worry me im still confident ill overheal close to any damage you will do long as its not lethal by using my restoration ability in conjonction with siphoning... dont think i only heal with vampiric move im an all out drain spec

It's kind of pointless to be a vampire because of this extreme fire damage especially in PvP. Sure you can put fire resist gear on but then that gimps you in other areas.

Not worth being a vampire at all.

clothe armor negate that debuff by default and heavy weaken it like crazy not to mention all those buff you can activate from spells or passive that negate those issue... you aint taking more damage from fire then a normal guy in leather. Ill only wear jewelry if i want to be Immunised to fire as well

The funnyest about this is if you are a dark elf in light armor wearing fire jewelry while also having picked up magic resist skills... trolololol dragonknights you hit me for 1 damage

Key word there, caster, not melee, so I need to: Be a breton or dark elf, or a sorcerer to be a good vampire, to not get one shot? So I shouldn't be able to play the way I wanna play, which is one of the major points of this game, be who you want and play how you want, right? But no I can't do that, because I'm a vampire, and I should have to put up with being one shot? Good thing I don't pvp, so I won't have to deal with those dragon knights. And I need to put my valuable enchant slots towards fire resist to not suck? Rather than magicka or stamina? So I'll be able to survive decently, still not as good as non vampires, but decent, just as long as I: Don't play my favorite race, class, and sacrifice my ability to use skills for the sake of fire resist, just so I don't get one shot by fire abilities. Gotcha.

From what I've gathered, don't be an argonian, don't be a nightblade, don't use anything but cloth, and spec into fire resist, just so I don't suck as a vampire.

No one here is saying anything about players but you, I'm talking about being one shot(LITERALLY) by dungeon bosses with nearly unavoidable damage, that's not fair, nerf the fire damage or nerf the boss, I shouldn't be our healers main concern.

What level are you? Have you actually played a lot of pvp or are you just talking how you think/wish things work?

I am desperately trying to find hard core in depth info on how ESO mechanics work, but have a hard time finding it. But I am almost 100% sure you have some facts messed up here. It is like you think you can get something like 90% resists or whatever, and I can garantee you that will never happen, and if so its a bug that will be fixed. It is very normal for a new game to have resist calculation problems.

And you know the char doing fire damage can get buffs to it and also get resist pierce bonuses right?

And it is like you think you can outheal the damage you will be takeing at the same time as you kill your enemy, sorry, but this sounds not even remotely realistic, and if it worked like this it would be horribly game breaking and broken.

Even in daoc a game with casted timed resist buffs, there was a hardcap at 50%(?) resists. And I do not think you in a game like ESO with very few resist buffs, can even get close to that. So as I said are you basing what you are writing based on actual testing/fighting, or are you just wishing on how you want it to actually work?

I am asking because I am honestly curious, as I said here and in other thread I am looking for in depth info om ESO mechanics, but it looks like no one knows or wants to share. And I find it hard the people that was in the beta, even in alpha do not have a lot of in depth knowledge on how things work.

Your career choice here comes with a consequence; your desire for the strengths of a vampire have come with the weakness of being a vampire. You are most certainly able and encouraged to play the way you want to play, but within reason of course. I'd like to transform into a Wyvern at times and burn towns to the ground for fun, but ZOS isn't going to let me. Do you see me complaining? (Well, maybe a little... let me WYVERN!!!)

Several people have assisted you with tips to get around that well-known vampire weakness without gimping the strengths, and from what I can tell, you've scoffed at all of them with a sarcastic or close-minded post immediately after. You aren't seeking help, nor are you warning anyone of anything. You're venting. Go ahead and get it all out, friend...

To all others, please listen to the rational voices in your head right now and understand that your experience with the vampire curse may vary from that of the OP.

I am a KHAJIIT, not dark elf, not anything else, but a KHAJIIT (Cat person) NIGHTBLADE level 48 vampire with 10 ranks in vampirism. I am MELEE (I am dual wield and I never use the weapon swap feature, the 6 skills I've got are good enough)

I use the following bar: http://esohead.com/calculator/skills#ccsUt0GFtc8jKvp8w2BO8IryJ8IrgV8jKEd85oL7vcdoQr6MdoQC6MdoQF8p7XMdBvT6MdBvj6MdBEI6MdBEp6cdBET8t7WmsgW6LsgZ6csg16MwS3c6MwUlN6MwYle6MwYlv6zwYl28C7Qrzqa6Nzqq6rzqu6zzqG6czqI6MGFWc6MGFWi6MGFWA6zGFWn8D7UrzdM6rzdm6MIsaM6MIrv36MIrEf6zIrEh8O7zzAZqS8P7zzLp4d8Y7sLfJI6rfJN6zjFYb6zjFYd6zjFYf6MjFYi6MjFYh6MjKBj837zzw3Y8zz7UctyrG6ztyfm6ctyfV6MtyfR8zf7VmNbo6MDVRC6MDVRH8zI7qMJIoX6MJIkL6zJITv8zN7nmJZcY6MJZrM6cJZuA6MJZuT6MJZuy6MJZug8zL7xmK4EX6MK4PZ6cK4YF6MK4YK6MK4YQ6MK4YW

Sorry for the huge link, unsure how to shrink it down. I replicated my character exactly as it is. I wear 5/2 Medium/Light with Head and Belt being light, all else medium.

The Blessed Crucible was not a problem, get out of the fire on beetles is easy. The HARD part of the beetles is how hard they hit (melee).

The last boss, when you see her casting, back up far away and get on the adds. When the flames come out they spiral away and it's SUPER EASY to dodge. Then go back into melee range.

I'm sorry you can't be on the bosses with 100% uptime as melee. This is a common thing in every MMO. Melee gets shafted because of positioning. Learn and get better.

I was getting one shot too, then I learned the patterns and voila~ No more deaths.

You will get pissed in Coldharbour in a certain quest line where there are 5-8 enemies grouped sometimes with 3 fire wizards. Your drain sometimes bugs out, or gets interrupted by heavy attacks and you get surrounded by enemies being blocked in unable to maneuver. That was frustrating. But non-vampires died too. The fire mages just make it a bit more challenging.

I got through the area from upgrading my weapons and armor a bit.

    TL;DR: l2play nerd
