Hidden Crafting stations, and how to use them?

Hi, how do i use the hidden crafting stations? And what is the traits required to use them?

I know in the first big zone there's 3, they all have a campfire like icon on the map. You just go in and use the station as you would any crafting station, but they have additional filters for the set items you can produce. In that first zone the requirement is having researched 2 traits per piece of gear you're trying to make. Other stations require more traits learned per item. Don't think it matters which traits.

Ah, those are for creating 'set' items. What you need to do is have at least 2 items researched on a single piece of equipment to use those stations. then to get the benefit of the set, you need 3 items crafted.

Example. My chest piece has 2 items researched on it. I can go to one of these stations and I can craft a chest piece from that station. That's all I can do, and I can't use the benefits, as it requires 3 pieces for the set.

Now, my chest has 2 items researched, and so does my helm and my boots. I can now go to this station and craft only a chest, helm, and boots, BUT now I can gain the ability of that set item.

I currently have 3 set items on my right now, so I have a chance to breath fire at an enemy that hits me with melee. It's actually kind of a cool animation.

You need to have researched 2 additional abilities to use their special feature. Each of the hidden crafting stations can be used to craft a set item. And that is 2 abilities per item type you want to craft. IE each piece of armor, each weapon, etc.

I could craft the nightsomething icestaff for example because I have 2 ice staff abilities researched.

Research, you have to have an item with the trait that you can then use the research tab to destroy and learn (first trait takes 6 hours, additional traits per item take more time).

You need to already have an item with that trait (from loot drops and quest rewards mostly, but you can also trade with other players of course).
Then at any crafting station for that type of item (wood, clothes, smith), click on the research tab. Then select an item to research. Researching a trait will destroy the item that you learn it from.

Can we mix and match set items?


like Night Silent's Sword with Gloves and Boots and then have Twilight's Embrace Chest, legs and Helm?


If we can that would make Twilight's Embrace and Song of Lamae decent if they can work with each other....

Yes, in fact some say that at high levels it's not a bad idea to try to wear 3 different 3 piece sets at once (only able to do this if you're using an item in each hand, not two handers).

Aye I just noticed when I was online I forgot about the off hand slot


So in hopes that Song of Lamae, Vampire's Kiss and Death's Wind when things get dangerous to knockback will be great ( And to PvP as Vampire to remove the debuff of the - % of health regen)

Are these hidden crafting stations just for armor and woodworking or do they exist for other professions as well?

Just smith, clothing, woodworking. It's armor/weapons only, not potions or food (not sure how a consumable with a set bonus would work :P)
