No base raw materials from deconstructing

I have a low level woodworker that I have put a number of points into woodworking craft. I send my T1-T3 wood items from my alt to this toon for deconstruction. I have NEVER seen a base wood raw material from any of this. Is this intentional or a bug? I am level 5 but can already use beech wood but yet no wood when deconstructing. Also forgot to mention that I put 1 point into extraction as well.

I just created a bug report for this because the decomposition should be tied to your woodworking skill (I have 3 points invested) not your character level. Anyone have any more insight on this or seeing this same behavior

I have level 3 extraction for blacksmithing and I've had this happen from whites to purples of all levels. I believe this is an intentional game mechanic because it happens to me all the time, even if it is frustrating at times.

This does not happen on my enchanter. I have a low level enchanter toon that I send all my glyphs. He decons them with no problem and always gets the mat. I know that it is a different kind of craft but something isn't right here. There is no reason my guy shouldn't get the base material but DOES get all the trait gems, improvement items, and style items.

I agree....enchanting seems ok (though Ive noticed not getting many potency runes from deconning). But my low level woodworker (currently woodworking lvl13) gets nothing from any deconning, except maple (which would fit the notion that you only get mats from items at your adventuring level).

Something is definately off. There's no conceivable reason why crafting progression should depend so heavily on adventuring level. Crafting is already held back back the need for unlocking progression via the skill points...which in turn requires levels or shards.

Personally, I think that should change as well.

How can you soar with eagles.....when you work with turkeys?

It mostly happens to me on lower level stuff.
