What should I use for my second weapon?

The guy I am running right now is a Dragonknight heavy armor fire mage. I'm wondering what is a good secondary weapon for me to use? I really have no clue if i should use a healing staff or some sort of melee weapon. Going for more of a tank role.

You might want to try out the sword and shield combo for tanking. The extra armor and tanking abilities would definitely come in handy.
