Hello. I have purchased this imperial edition and can't get my 30 free days without making a purchase. Can I use a friend's credit card and then set up a payment plan with his card and then cancel the payment method? I can only get savings account and no debit/checking account or card due to a fraudulent lien. I sure would not like to base my decision to play on whether or not the money guys are confident in the game. Requiring a subscription tells me that there is zero confidence in product.

I had to do set up the payment method, but I won't be changed until May 6th.

Upon setting up your subscription plan you may see an initial transaction against your account however this transaction is only temporary. The charge represents an authorization check against the account provided and will be removed once the authorization check is complete.

Exceptions to this general rule are Webmoney, ideal, PaySafeCard, and Giropay.

So the answer to my problem is to commit banking fraud? I have money. Enough money. Can I use my friend's credit card which doesn't have my name on it to set a payment plan on my account which does have my name on it? After the 30 days is added I will immediately remove the credit card from the payment plan. Can I do this?

I just want to know if I just threw my money out the window because if it is this much hassle to get the free 30 days then see ya! Did I mention that I have money. Enough money. Bad taste in my mouth right now.

Use a time card, EVERY P2P MMO asks you to setup your payment details when your 30 days start. Unless you are just flame baiting, in that case apologies and keep up

No, you can't do this. If your CC information does not match the information on your account, they will lock the account thinking its stolen. Every MMO i've played does this.

Every MMO does this. Has nothing to do with confidence. You set up a credit card, it checks to see if the card is good, and then you don't actually pay (any charges that do show up will disappear on their own) until the start of the next month. If you don't want to pay for a second, month, cancel before the month starts.

The ones I've played have not done that (WOW and SWG are the main ones off hand I know for a fact did not as I paid for friends accounts). Certainly kids will have parents pay for their accounts, or family members etc. I do agree requiring a card before you get the free time is standard, though.

Way not purchase a pre paid card from walmart or similar retailer.

Can't you just steup a paypal account and give them that info. You don't have to have money in the account to setup Paypal.

Please close this thread as my credit problem has been solved and I am good to go. I would have preferred a 30 day code as the free 30 days included with game purchase but you can't have everything. Thank you everyone for the insightful responses.
