Is this the correct FPS I should be getting for my Rig?

MetalGriff
Hi, I could be totally imagining things and that my machine itself is performing fine but, with everything maxed, and vsync turned off and reflections to medium, I get on average 60-90 fps in non crowded indoor areas and in major cities I get around 38- 55 fps. My build is as follows

EVGA GTX 670 2gb

ASROCK b75m Motherboard:

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157365

i5 3450 3.1Ghz

8gb DDR3 Dual Channel 1600MHz ram (2x4gb) Kingston

650 Watt 80 Plus Bronze NZXT PSU

Samsung 840 Evo 120gb SSD Sata 3 6Gb/s

WD Caviar Green HDD 1.5TB SATA 3 6gb/s

ESO is installed on the SSD

Case is well ventilated and the GPU never goes over 55 celcius from my monitors in game. GPU usage also sits at around 50- 70 percent (unless I use K-Boost in EVGA Precision X )and CPU usage usually sits at around 35-55 percent.

Like I said I could be imagining things or the game just could need some more optimizing but I could really use a second opinion to see if my build is performing as it should be.

Thanks

Sounds pretty normal for that gear, tho you did not mention what resolution you play it on, but most likely 1920-1080 with that fps.

How are you guys measuring FPS? I've just upgraded to an Nvidea GTX760 from an AMD Radeon 6870; initial impressions look great, but I have no idea what FPS I'm getting.

Really not sure why you get more fps than me but my gpu and cpu also sit at a low percentage of use and run cool.

I'm getting as low as 19 fps in busy areas.

    Gigabyte GeForce gtx 670

    Asus sabertooth 990fx

Thanks, but Ive begun to notice my fps drop below 60 alot even in none populated areas, and when Im on my rogue it drops to low 40s during some fights with mages. I dont understand it, after I updated to the latest driver nividia sent out today, I was under the impression that it was supposed to increase performance, not bog it down.

Sounds about right. I get 40-60fps in cities (depending on crowd levels), and 60 (vsync) in slower areas, and I have a MUCH more powerful system.

    i7-4770k
    16GB RAM
    EVGA GTX 780ti SC

Supposedly, this will improve with Nvidia's new drivers (which are still beta btw), and a true full screen mode (which is being worked on).

Wouldnt mind some new Nividia Drivers specifically aimed at ESO, and that fullscreen mode cannot come sooner, none of my changes to the Nividia Control Panel work on ESO, not adaptive vysnc or any of the performance options. But im still suprised that I went down a tad in performance with the newest 337.50 beta drivers.

I have a gtx 580, runs ultra completely playable.
you really should overclock that cpu btw, wasting your systems potential.
    Also overclock the GPU.

Thats because you went with a AMD fx over intel, you've wasted the full potential of your 670 going amd.

What is your avg. fps in game with ultra preset?
  • MittWaffen
I havent run fraps, but it feels like a solid 30+ i havent had an fps issue ever even in cities. Butter basically hence why i havent checked.
  • MetalGriff
I have tried to OC my CPU, but for some reason every time I do so in the bios, it downclocks itself back to 3.1ghz, and Ive bumped it up to 3.5 maybe a dozen times.
  • MetalGriff
Im starting to think my CPU might be a problem seeing as how every time I benchmark my GPU it pulls off reasonable numbers...

No problem with that CPU. Has more than ennough power to run the game.

  • MetalGriff
Meh, with the new beta drivers im starting to get bellow 60 even in areas outside of cities with no people. It might just be the game and its lack of optimization and fullscreen mode. I havent been in any big big cities yet, but it drops to 40 with vsync on in crowded areas.

I'm getting about the same on GTX 770 on i7 960 CPU, 16 RAM and spinning disk. This is on the current Game Ready/WHQL driver that Geforce Experience pulls (version is in another GTX performance thread). Taskmgr seems to be indicating during play that one CPU core is running at 90%+, another is at 50%, and the rest idle. I haven't taken the time yet to profile that one hot core to see what is driving the load on it.

Despite framerate being less than impressive given the available horsepower, the game still handles load very nicely; the framerate changes are barely perceptible unless it drops below 20. This is much better than some recent games that exhibit slowdown when the action ramps up.

Hopefully Zenimax will throw some cycles into optimization so we can get city FPS up.
  • MetalGriff
Alright so I just ramped up everything to max, and now in Daggerfall I get 27-35 fps... Idk if this is common with my setup or if anyone else is getting that, but it just seems a tad ridiculous. Is anyone else getting that?
