Specs:
AMD FX-6120 six core3.5

What card could I get to get this to 80-100?
  • vengeful_batosai
I run a XFX R9 270X and i dont see much issue. But you need to give a price range because i could just tell you to get a titan and youll be good. but i dont know many people that can drop $1000 on a VC and pay bills lol

You should be happy you're getting that fps.

In town I'm getting 20-25 on my GTX 670 :(
  • vengeful_batosai
you also might want to step up to no less than 8GB of RAM 1866MGz if possible and make sure you have no less than 2GB DDR5 on your card
  • Claym0r3

I believe the issue is my video card. As far as price goes- under $350. I don't need anything way overboard. Just something to keep this game running smooth. (80-100 fps)

Optimize in your GF Experience application. If your video card is updated you might have a CPU bottleneck. First check out the application.

Done the gf optimize with no joy.

Nothing is bottle necking. Both cpu and gpu and low % usage.

    What's your FPS?

  • antonyfrnb16_ESO
550 isn't very powerful tbh im running the below hardware and hitting 60fps with the odd dips down to 50fps. But ESO rarely uses more than 1.25GB VRAM sits between that value and just shy of 900MB VRAM.

If all goes well Monday Nvidia will publish the 337.50 drivers

    What’s New in Version 337.50

    Performance
Introduces key DirectX optimizations which result in reduced game-loading times and significant performance increases across a wide variety of games. Results will vary depending on your GPU and system configuration. Here are some examples of measured gains versus the previous 335.23 WHQL driver:

GeForce GTX 700 Series (Single GPU):
Up to 64% in Total War: Rome II
Up to 25% in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Up to 23% in Sleeping Dogs
Up to 21% in Star Swarm
Up to 15% in Batman: Arkham Origins
Up to 10% in Metro: Last Light
Up to 8% in Hitman Absolution
Up to 7% in Sniper Elite V2
Up to 6% in Tomb Raider
    Up to 6% in F1 2013

    My System Specs
    AMD Phenom II 955 BE
    16Gb Corsair DDR3 Venagace
EVGA GTX 760 SC ACX 4GB
    ASUS Sabertooh 990FX R2.0
    Windows 8.1 Pro Update 1 64Bit

I have two 780GTX but only run one for ESO since SLI is currently not working properly. I get around 60fps in town and 90-100+ in the world, all settings maxed, 1920x1080.

I'm getting 20-25 fps in places like Daggerfall. 40+ in the more open areas.

Amd fx 6 core 3.51 ghz
    Gigabyte GeForce gtx670
    4gb ram
    Asus sabertooth 990fx
    Win 8.1 64 bit

It's really annoying as my gpu and cpu have a low percentage of use and they are running cool. Also people with less powerful systems are getting better fps unless they are full of it.

This is first game my rig has struggled with.

Really need help with this one.

If your going to go 780 wait for the 6gb edition.
I get 60-100 but I keep vsync on because of Cyrodill causes fps to jump.

Looks like I'm going to wait on it. I'll have to upgrade my PSU in order to upgrade my VC. I have a 460W installed now and the newer cards all want at least 550W. Looks like the conclusion is 700 series or the equivalent and higher. Thanks everyone!

You're being limited by your CPU. A video card upgrade would not make a huge difference.

That CPU will handle anything ESO can throw at it. That means you could put on 4x gtx 780 ti running at 4k and it will not be bottlenecked.

Anyone using a AMD R9 270? If you are- what's your FPS on what quality?

I guess you will get a decent increase in performance with a 270 over the 550, although the 550 ti isn't an awful card, if I were you, and you're capable of saving (easier said than done) I'd save and get a gtx 770 or an r9 280x. But if you're impatience gets the better of you, go with the 270, or squeeze a 270x if you can.
  • Claym0r3
    Claym0r3
<--- college student LOL - If I go any higher I will have to get better PSU. 270x and higher new PSU and anything higher then 280x will bottleneck with my CPU. So my best option is this card. I just want to know what kind of fps/quality people are getting to see if it will be that worth it.

Well in regards to bottleneck, it's game dependent. ESO doesn't seem to be too CPU intensive at all, for example a game could bottleneck an i7 4770 using an HD7770, whereas in another game SLI GTX 780 TI could be bottlenecked and you CPU that you use could still have idle space (although I couldn't name these games, a part from simulators and heavy renders(actually I could name games, bvut that's an stupidly high res like 4k gaming)). Some PSU's are better than others in regards to the +12v rail and the amps it has, you can check yours on the sticker on the side of your PSU. AMD recommend 750w minumum with my card, but the PC's max load all in all is probably 350-400w, not really added it up though jsut a guess.

    But getting an R9 270 shouldn't disappoint.

Hopefully SLI support comes out soon. when I force rendering on card 2 it just drops my performance big time. Have to gt750m's and this game should be running a lot better for me than it is.

    Incorrect.

AMD CPU´s are not the best if it comes to MMO´s sadly. The CPU is a weak link in the system, but so is the GPU. The PC looks a bit like a pre build one, 6 GB Ram is a bit weird and seems like it was a 4GB system that later got an upgrade to
That however isn't a good solution, 2x4 is a lot better also because of Dual channel processing.

You can get a new GPU, but it will not do miracles and require additional updates to your system.

I would wait and build a PC once you have the money for it.

    Utter nonsense about AMD CPU's.

I have played plenty of others and this is the only one I have issues with.

Also only a small % of the CPU is being used when running this game.

Dual channel isn't "alot" better, and if he has the same timings/speed them 2gb and 4gb will work in dual channel mode. Regardless you won't notice a difference while gaming anyway.

I'll repeat again, FX-6120 is fine for ESO, it should cover all CPU demands of the game. BF4 it will not. Your graphics is the "weak" link if you want to call it that, upgrade that to a 270, especially since you seem to have your eyes set on it, it is a great card and you will love it, it could give you up to 3x more performance than the 550 ti.

According to their recommendations I'm only short a stick of RAM lol
Definitely not ultra quality but still playable.
  • Claym0r3

So the answer-was it worth it?
Barely, but still happy. This is what I have come up with for GPU and game settings based off experience and hours of research. Don't forget that a POS CPU will still bring you down.
    Ultra settings-gtx 780 ti
High settings-R9 270/x (go with the "x" version if you can)
Medium settings-gtx 550 ti ( I would try to at least make it to the 600 series)
Anything lower I don't know and you'll probably have to turn things way down.
Anyone who doesn't agree with these statements please add your own information in detail so that the community can benefit. Thanks everyone!

    Hi folks,

Adding my two cents here since I'm also experiencing low fps.

    My rig:

    Intel i5 2500k OC'ed to 4 Ghz.
    GTX 770. No OC.
16 GB corsair RAM at 1600 hz
Asrock Extreme 3 gen 3 motherboard.
    Corsair AX860i PSU
x2 OCZ 60 GB SSDs in raid 0.

    Windows 7 64 bit.

Running no other programs at all, (closing even Google chrome and steam, everything) I get about 40-45 ish in Daggerfall. I get about 50-60 in the wild, which is playable, but in Cyrodil and major cities my fps is far lower than I expect it to be on a computer like this.

I run everything at maximum, with Vsync off. Reinstalled drivers using safemode and a removal tool, back to the beta 337.50 Nvidia drivers. Shadowplay is off, just in-case that was related.

Worth noting that my CPU and GPU are barely being used to half of their capacity. I took a video to demonstrate, forgive the low quality, my phone's camera is poor. (Ignore the GPU meter shader clock speed, it never displayed it accurately).

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCiUB1BXNiI

This issue seems to me to be related towards the game not properly using all available hardware power. I'd wager those who have consistent fps are at full or near to full capacity on their GPUs.

Most of you people having issues. I bet your fps would sky-rocket if they added full screen mode instead of Fake full screen that we have now. I don't think I have seen a AAA game before, since early 2000s that didn't have it.
