The Tome Daily login reset to 1/99. What happened to all the daily logins we earned up until now?! We weren't given enough days to complete this so what was even the point?!

They already said they overshot to 99 so they could avoid running into situations where you log in and get nothing.

I don't see this as a big deal.

The season is over and the counter resets. That's how it works. You got every day that existed in the season.

Them not counting the EXACT number of days is hardly the most pressing concern.

You didn't get nothing. You got tome points every time you clicked it throughout season zero. It is now season 1.

We were supposed to get a lot more than that for completing all 99 days. I forget the exact number now and it's been reset, but it was a lot more than just the little daily amount.

There was no prize for completing all 99. Dunno how you came to that conclusion.

I got that impression by it giving an amount of tome points for completing all of the days shown.

You get tome points PER DAY, not after 99.

Now you get tome points PER DAY on the new counter.

Can you provide a source for this please? You got the points every time you claimed them (that is per each day). Similar to the weekly achievements (every time you complete a, say, "collect 15 runestones").

I can't provide a source because I can no longer see what it showed before it reset to a new season today. But I had looked at it a couple of days ago to see how much I would receive if I completed it and it showed an amount.

Have you ever claimed them? I mean on a day per day basis or by using the shortcut "claim all"?

Like all completed Challenges, you had to click on them to claim the Tome Points. If you logged in each day but forgot to do that, then the claims stack, meaning you need to click multiple times (or use "Claim All").

    I clicked it every day.

The whole Tomes system was very poorly presented and explained. Like there being a 2000 tome points carry over limit that was never explained to the players. And the "Acquire (Hold)" button to purchase items which is confusing at best.

This is just another thing about Tomes that wasn't made clear.

Known "issue" which was addressed by the devs about three months ago. The daily login was set at 99 because the seasons are going to be about 90 days; some longer, some shorter, but 99 covers all four in a year (396 days worth). You didn't lose any daily logins unless you failed to claim them before Season Zero ended.

EDIT: also not intending to point fingers here, but I believe the OP was one of the people who specifically asked about this at the start of Season Zero, which prompted the devs' response to that question. Could be misremembering, but could also be that the OP's question falls into "asked and answered, counselor; move on."

The 99 was just a maximum number of times that you could complete that challenge, not the number of logins required to complete it. Assuming that rach season is intended to last for 3 months, that means the actual number of days in any given season would probably be about 93 days (3 x 31), give or take depending on the actual starting and ending dates. If each season were planned to start and end on a particular day of the week (i.e., Wednesday), the number of days per season will probably be a multiple of 7 (the number of days in a week). Assuming approximately 52 weeks per year (365.25 / 7 = 52 with a remainder of 1.25 days), that would mean an average season would be 13 weeks, with an occasional season of 14 weeks, which would be 91 days of logins (13 weeks) or on rare occasions 98 days (14 weeks), so 99 is large enough to allow for the maximum expected length of any given season. And if you're a computer programmer, 99 also happens to be the maximum value that a 2-digit field can have if it's for a decimal number.

As others pointed out, you got 15 or 17 Tome Points each time you logged in and claimed the reward for that challenge. And if you forgot to claim it each day, it would accumulate and let you claim the reward multiple times in a row, such as claiming 14 login rewards one after the other if you'd forgotten to claim it for 14 days of logins.

On the other hand, if you had not been claiming the reward at all throughout Season Zero, and were just letting it accumulate because you were under the impression that it couldn't be claimed until you had 99 daily logins, then you lost out when the seasons changed and the challenges got reset. That would be a sizable number of Tome Points that you lost out on, but you probably got plenty of Tome Points from the weekly challenges and the other seasonal challenges, so it's not worth kicking yourself over. Just consider it a lesson learned and move on, being mindful to claim it each day from now on (if that's what happened to you).

If you claimed the daily challenges then you got all the rewards you were supposed to get. I've never seen a talk about getting anything for completing all 99 days. In fact, I do remember seeing something similar to what AScarlato posted:

Not only was it made clear, there was another thread about it where it was explained. It was never for the 99 days in total. Never.

It was a daily reward that actually stacked if you forgot to claim it.

And if you forgot, that’s on you.

You received nothing for “completing it.”

It was 15 points per day. The programming isn’t set up to have infinite repeats, so they put 99 as a stopgap, since it was more than the maximum number of days left.

When it started, we only had 97 days in the season. It is mathematically impossible to get 99 daily logins over 97 days.

Kevin even straight up confirmed that it goes the way everyone is saying, but I can’t for the life of me find that (forum search is… goodn’t)

Everything reset today for the new season, so it’s set to 99 again. Even if this season doesn’t end up being 99 days.

As for search, I used the forums search here once. Feel free to put scare quotes on any or all of those words.

Now I use a general search engine using site:forums.elderscrollsonline.com

If that type of search fails, it’s usually because I’m not using the right keywords.

This is not correct. What I asked was why the daily login didn't pop-up to be claimed like other tome objectives do.

If you're in the habit of forgetting to claim your tomb points from completed challenges - there are a number of addons which will do that automatically for you, meaning you'll never forget and never miss out. A quick search will bring them up.

Possibly because it was seasonal rather than weekly? I don't know - I installed the auto-claim add-on and never worried about claiming either again, because I was tired of the massive banner and prompt hanging across my screen in the middle of combat. Instead, I got a nice little note in the chat window which I could easily ignore if I was in the middle of something.

The 2k carry-over cap, while not in the initial description, was also mentioned, confirmed, and discussed across multiple threads.

    Yes, it does.

    ETA:
    It's @code65536 's "Auto-Claim or Hide Tome Challenges"
It would be nice if it also claimed GPs, but that might be more complicated
