We have mastered the art of dying our leather metallic, but we can’t put simple base colors like red in our hair. 🙃

    Yes, it's necessary.
I'm in favor of being able to change the color, as long as it's reasonable. No neon pink or overly eccentric colors. Thank you.

I don't think it's "necessary" but I don't think the OP really meant the word in that way. I consider it a quality of life improvement that ZOS could make, allowing players to make small modifications to character's looks that don't require a full appearance change token.

Kinda like how you can buy adornments, hair styles, facial hair, etc packs in the cash shop and swap between them through the Collections menu? I could see them having a 'hair dye' pack that lets you pick from all the normal hair colors accessable in character creation and swap at-will similarly.

The operative word is "buy" and those items you've described are in addition to the settings in the character editor. The act of buying the game gives you access to a number of included hair styles, colors, adornments, etc. You shouldn't have to pay 1,000 crowns just because you'd like to change your character's hair style or color to one that's already available in the character creator. I have no issue with spending crowns to make major appearance changes.

The Crown store items you've described are in addition to the built-in adornments, hair styles, facial hair, etc. If someone wants those items they can buy them. On the other hand if you created a character with red hair from the editor and would like them to have black hair, you shouldn't have to pay 1,000 crowns just to change that color.

This would be a QOL change allowing minor character tweaks in the character editor, sort of like an "appearance-lite" feature for gold.

I'd like a way to have salt-and-pepper hair. My main character has been at this for quite some time.
