Back when Patch Notes were separate PS - XB - PC I used to check how many views their threads gathered.
On the forum, Xbox always gathered more views than PlayStation. PC obviously even more.

I always wondered if this could reflect Xbox being more populated in-game than PlayStation or if it's just that Xbox players follow the forum more...

You're going to get sample which is very biased in favor of PC NA here. PC because PTS folks are all PC players. Some might also play on console, but PTS is only available for PC. NA because it's a predominantly English-language forum. There will be some EU players, but US/Canada makes up the bulk of the English-speaking NA player base.

That said, I'm predominantly a PC NA player, but I have PC EU characters, too.

I'm more curious about the difference between last and current gen consoles, honestly. Dropping last gen would probably do wonders for the game, but if too many people play on old systems, they shouldn't abandon them.

I choose PC NA since I have more accomplished there.

I wish they were merged as far as characters, achieves, mounts, etc. Or that we could pay to transfer our data from NA to EU.
Not looking forward dealing with ping issues playing NA when I move to EU.

Oh that's interesting. It shows as having been posted at 12:23am for me, which would be about 7pm EST.

I'm not entirely sure about ESO but I know on the Guild Wars 2 forum Americans are always saying prime time is "around server reset" which is midnight my time.

I think the opening post was made just before midnight in the US. And then your post was made at 4 am in the US (EST) is what I meant. Idk if the time stamps we see are for ZOS's time or not. Kinda interesting to see the discrepancy though

i main PS5 NA , while playing PS5 eu and PC na/eu , i had tried to switch over to PC NA played there for like 8 months but ended up going back to PS5 after being removed from raid group on PC for not being willing to install add-ons to my game

It's been my experience that most (not all, but most) people who refuse to use addons or specific addons hold the group back. Not because of their refusal to use the addon necessarily, but because they are argumentative and stubborn.
I have an elderly computer just barely grinding along. I keep my addons to a minimum, and I communicate my limits. There's a certain amount of reliance on the RL to make callouts and everyone else to be in the correct place at the correct time. I understand that.
Refusing to download an addon puts what you might call "undo burden" on everyone around you to cater to your whims. They have to wait for you to manually swap gear, or accept you will have lower damage. They can't rely on you to know positional markers. They can't see when your ultimate is up to time ulti dumps and if they put you in a support set they won't be able to track it reliably.

You are cutting off your nose to spite your face and insisting that Zos mandates EVERYONE cut off their nose so no one has the unfair advantage of being able to smell.

It's ridiculous.

you are missing the point here on psn we figured out where to place ourselves, didnt have markers telling us where to stand , we figure out how to time thing we dont get told when to do it have for over ten years , i get PC and console have been two different formates of the same game for 10+ years but now trying to smash them together while only looking at it for one set of views keep dismissing the 2/3 of the plays that has played in a different world see how many are left for crossplay lol

Yes and you are missing the point: having 1 outlier in the group is more work for the rest of the group.

Also there is nothing stopping you from making your own groups, without addons. Why don't you go ahead and do that? Since it's better and all.

First, the PC playerbase is much bigger. Second, around me on PC EU, almost nobody wants cross-play. It is mostly console players who want it more.

Third, your agitation is starting to get really tiring. If you want to make the game harder for yourself, then do it. Someone already gave you a very good answer in another thread too.

You are opening 3 different topics and trying to stir things up everywhere. Honestly, if cross-play is going to bring more people acting like this, then I do not even want it anymore.

Refusing what the majority likes and constantly trying to push everyone toward the way you want to play is getting really boring. Even after ZOS answered, you still continue the same agitation.

for some the game has gotten harder to keep up with due to add-ons that effect their playstyle mostly in scored content and they feel its not right

Then make groups that don't use addons. According to you, there are loads of people who hate addons or cannot use them, so you should be able to make several trial groups, no problem.

tell me you have no understanding of leaderboards and pushing for score without telling me you dont with the use of add-ons leaderboader times have dropped upwards of 6 minutes off the scoring times hard to make tham up when the one underlining reason is a add-on

The only problem being that ZOS has designed the game loop in a one-dimensional way that DPS is literally everything in the game and every system exists to increase it, and all "balance" and "combat" changes revolve around DPS.

So when add-ons exist that increase DPS and ZOS looks at the "top" to balance the game, can we really ignore the impact that add-ons have on the game and player performance?

If ZOS will balance the game on DPS, and DPS can inflate with add-ons and decrease without them, then at that point what are we really balancing on? How is ZOS accounting for these add-ons and how they affect overall balance in the game?

The answer, we already know what it is: they aren't. And there's zero transparency into the processes that go into balancing in the first place and the patch notes don't provide any real insight besides whether or not you've been buffed or nerfed with a comment that has no solid reasoning behind it.

That, I think is exactly what the OP wants to bring to the forefront and discuss. Making more groups won't matter if you are going to be penalized because some guy using an add-on is getting much more DPS due to those add-ons that you aren't using.

The same situation exists in PvP where some add-ons give a massive advantage. I don't use any add-ons besides inventory insight, superstar, and that map one.

Adding the possibility for addons had to be done before crossplay is even remotely possible. You have to provide an even playground, otherwise one hardware dominates over the other.
