I am experiencing persistent packet loss and latency spikes while connected to the EU megaserver.
I see ping going from 60 to 450 then again 60 then 999+ then again 60. Skills sometimes do not work, sometimes I have huge delay simply trying to barswap. It happens even when in a normal city, not only in PVP or dungeons, while in a normal city it is way less pronounced (but if I start barwsapping continuosly for 10 or 15 secs the issue starts to surface).
I tried to connect bypassing my provider infrastructure / routing using cloudflare WARP, but I end up having the same issues on the same network routing.
I performed multiple WinMTR tests toward some of the endpoints i see in "ESTABILISHED" status while I'm playing the game, e.g.
159.100.232.176
159.100.232.157
159.100.232.119
Results consistently show:
- Packet loss between 10% and 40% reaching the destination
- Loss starting in transit nodes (e.g. 130.117.14.50)
- Path includes COLT network (ae1.3102.ear2.frf1.neo.colt.net)
The issue is reproducible:
- on different routes (including Cloudflare WARP)
- with stable local network (0% loss locally)
This suggests to me congestion or packet loss on upstream transit/peering toward ESO EU infrastructure.
As said, the issue causes in-game lag spikes (skills not firing, latency spikes up to 999 ms).
Am I the only one experiencing these issues in the past week?
