The Face Sculptor in ESO (Request)

For the majority of players in the ESO community, we take the appearance of our character very seriously. Mainly because for the next several or so months or years, that character is us. Our entire stay in Tamriel will be seen through the eyes of our Vestige.

If Zenimax or the modding community would be able to implement a character or mechanic which offered the privileges of Skyrim's Face Sculptor, we would be able to customize our appearance more than once, adding age, scars, or changing our overall appearance, voice, and looks when we felt it necessary, and I would be forever grateful. I've probably spent upwards of 7000 Septims (1000 per session) on the Face Sculptor in Skyrim!

Just a thought, tell me what you guys think!

And please please please don't monetize this. This is a subscription game. (So far. o:) )

Indeed it should be an option for gold. Especially since the damn character menu was broken on release so we couldnt zoom in on the face and finetune.

I totaly agree. My charakter is now lvl 13 and i allready want to make a few littel tweaks to him. And since this is a feature availbale in most mmos i dont see any reason not to implement it.

In games like ESO in where you have 49 different propertys with several options each i find hit very hard to get the "right" charakter on first hit, especially when some flaws are first spottet lately in the game while wearing a new armor skin or when you see your charakter in different positions and ambient light.

Also for rollpaly reasons it would be cool to change the chraracter once in a while.

And it cant take up too mutch of the development resources as the basic thing allredy exists as character creation. At least thats what i think.

So i vote YES for Facesculptor!

Well it wont be doable by the community thats for sure. So hopefully the devs are doing something for this. At least they didnt flat-out deny a barber shop :)

I'm like you guys, I spent a lot of time tweaking my character's face. It was likely more than a healthy amount of time...but no matter! This game is amazing, and this would only deepen my experience in The Elder Scrolls Online. Adding scars over time, changing hair cuts, it would all be perfect for the stories that each and every one of us are carving for ourselves.

a face sculptor would be great. i would love to change my face. it looks different in the game than it did in the creation screen, but ive already played my character for a lot of hours. im otherwise happy with my character and dont want to ditch all those hours completely, so would love to be able to make a few tweaks to the face. hope this will be a feature in a future patch.

It took me hours to create my character JUST right. And now I noticed a few things, while I was actually in the game, that I find distracting. I would be SO happy for a face sculptor.

Changing the way your Character looks is outside of what Addons can do. Write the devs feedback using the ingame Formular, that has a much higher chance of being seen.

But before they can give you an editor, they have to add a preview functionality to the game.
First they would have to implement a preview for gear (how it would look like on current Character).*
Then they could expand it to be a preview for an alternate set of facial/character features.*
Before you have a "preview in gamescreen" function, you cannot really design your character.

I hope they add it. But it might also be that ESO's "shyness for being an MMO" is keeping that from happening,.

*Both are equally hard and closely related, but the gear preview is propably more important. So it will likely come before a facial editor.

Yes, and when and if they add this, PLEASE allow vampires to have access to the face sculptor as well! Since I made my Dunmer lady a vampire, I've been thinking that she would look really good with some brighter red hair and a slightly different eye shape, but if they decide that the face sculptor will operate the same way it did in Skyrim, I won't be able to do any of what I want with my character's appearance. That makes for a sad vampire =(

Like a few others I created my toon during early access when the zoom in feature was bugged. So it would be nice to have the chance to edit her if I wanted. Even if it was just the limited 'Face Sculptor' style as in Skyrim. Perhaps with the release of the Thieves Guild she'll magically travel back in time to offer her fine services :O?

Yes, I have been thinking about this as well, and in all 5 guilds I am in most players seemed open and would like a feature in the game by which we could change the way our toons look. Including their face, hair, and body just like the face sculptor of Skyrim. More so when most of us invest many hours in a toon.

This is a great idea and imo it should be implemented. Let's hope the devs decide to implement this feature.

The first thing they needed is a proper "preview" feature.
The dye preview was the first step.
Gear preview is propably the next step.
And "different toon design" preview would be the last step.

At least that is why I think they are doing. Until I saw the dye system with my own eyes it never even occured to me that this one already needed a preview feature.
But now it does make sense that they choose to make dye first.
