Any reason not to get "keen eye" for all professions?

lypheb16_ESO
I know our skill points are finite and I'll want to focus on 1 profession at some point, but I would really like to have "keen eye" for all my gathering professions - although I'm not sure if this hurts me long term by spreading out my points too much.

Anyone that has played deeper into the game able to advise on this? Also, how many professions can you 'properly' specialize in? 1, 2, more?

Thanks in advance!! :)

You get roughly 300 skill points that we know of, with more coming with future updates (new skill lines). A few points placed in each crafting skill line won't make much of a difference.

I reached VR1 not too long ago, have all the combat abilities I'll ever need and have been working on all crafting skill lines too. I plan on maxing out all 6 craft skill lines alongside my combat skills, which (last time I calculated) will take about 250 skill points, leaving me with 50 to spare.

Obviously getting that many skill points will take awhile, especially considering the majority of them come after level 50, but it gives you an idea of how little a few skill points wasted will mean. You could easily max out 2 craft skill lines in order to gear yourself easily and still have many points to spare for combat.

Only use keen eye for plants. It will help you a lot, they very easy to spot then, and almost impossible without. Wood, ore and light armor resources are not a problem at all.
And with 320 skill points confirmed by devs, you can easily have all crafts and still get all skills and morphs you want without problem.

I have little trouble finding them without keen eye, so I'll wait until I have points to spare.

Never had any trouble spotting nodes so for me this seems like a waste of points.

Until you put a point in keen eye and realize you were missing roughly half of them no matter how diligent one thought they were. You Definitely start noticing more with points spent there. I'm talking mostly alchemy here, other three are pretty easy with/without.

I also thought I was noticing most, if not all, alchemy ingredient plants until I spent a point on keen eye today. Wow, I've been missing a ton of them.
