Feanor's ESO Beginner Guide Part 2:
Tip #1: Play the story in order (0:22) – Use the Chronological Timeline Guide on the ESO Hub website to follow the story in the intended order for a better connection to the world.
https://eso-hub.com/en/guides/chronological-timeline-guide
Tip #2: Unlock all crafting trees (0:42) – You must get certified to perform daily crafting writs. (Jewelry crafting requires the Summerset DLC or ESO Plus.) And you can find Felarian in Alinor right outside the crafting area in order to gain access to Jewelry crafting writs.
Tip #3: Seek help from the community (1:31) – Don't hesitate to ask questions in the comments here or on the video or from other experienced players on your server. Many are happy to provide guidance.
Tip #4: Understand new systems (1:58) – Get familiar with Tamriel Tomes (a rewards progression system) found by clicking the book icon in the top left of your UI and Trade Bars (the new currency replacing event tickets, used in the Bazaar). The Bazaar looks like a gold bar icon in the crown store.
Tip #5: Level skills on your back bar (3:25) – As of Update 49, you can level skills on your inactive back bar, making it easier to grind levels for different skill lines. Simply equip the weapon you wish to level, or the level1 variant skill from any tree on the back bar. Get to leveling and forget it.
Tip #6: Use Add-ons (4:06) – Enhance your experience with add-ons. PC players can use the Minion Add-on manager for simplicity, while console players can browse them in the game's UI. They must find the Add-ons option, accept terms of service with the first option and then scroll through the list once done. That easy.
Tip #7: Lock your gear (4:45) – Enable gear locking to prevent accidentally dismantling or selling your equipped items. At the top right of all your gear, you can see an unlocked padlock icon. Simply click this icon and gear will no longer be at risk of being destroyed or sold.
Tip #8: Optimize loot settings (5:15) – Go to settings>Game settings>Scroll down: to turn on consolidate area loot and autoloot. If you have ESO Plus, ensure auto add to craft bag is enabled. You can also now turn on loot history to see what you picked up, especially if you dont have add-ons already for this. Or if you want to reduce Add-on bloat not that this is in game.
Tip #9: Don't stress builds until max level (5:56) – Wait until you reach level 50 and 160 Champion Points (CP 160) before focusing on endgame gear, as gear caps at that level and all previous gear will be a waste to invest too deeply into.
Tip #10: Join base game guilds (7:21) – Join the Fighter's Guild, Mage's Guild, and Undaunted to unlock essential skill lines, quests, and rewards. Also, visit Cyrodiil at level 10 to unlock the Assault skill line for a free mount speed buff via the first passive in the tree.
Tip #11: Wear multiple armor types (9:10) – Mix and match light, medium, and heavy armor while leveling to ensure all those skill trees progress simultaneously. In ESO things work quite a bit differently than many other MMO's, as this is an Elderscrolls game, you have much more freedom in build variety than others. And many builds at end game have mixed armor types as BIS/META, especially for PvP.
Tip #12: Experiment with builds (9:52) – Test various weapons and spells to find a playstyle you enjoy, there are seemingly endless fun and lore friendly builds to play with and essentially anything for any type of player. For optimized meta builds and deep dives on detailed stats & explanations, check out Hyperioxes on YouTube.
Tip #13: Change skills/attributes for free (10:30) – Thanks to recent updates, you can reallocate your attribute and skill points for free within your UI options. A very simple option has been added to the bottom center of your screen on the Skills page and the attributes page, simply click it. Reallocate them, and lock in the new selections. Free, easy, awesome.
Tip #14: Join trade guilds (10:58) – To effectively trade and make gold, join a large trade guild that maintains a public merchant, as you can belong to up to five guilds at once. If you are in a guild who does not win the weekly trade bids, you will not be able to sell items on any store front to the public. Any listed items will only be viewable by other guild members to that specific guild at a city banker for purchase.
Tip #15: Read bookshelves (11:45) – Activating bookshelves while exploring has a chance to level up your character's skill lines automatically. This is especially valuable in the early levels and for any new player, as a simple click while sprinting by can save you valuable time later when focused on maxing skill lines out and crafting.
Hope this was found to be helpful to some, let me know if you have any extra advice or any questions and ill be happy to respond & help if possible. Thanks!
