Tomes over seasons

I have checked the tomes UI and see that we are in a season.

I see tomes aggregating as i do stuff like farm ore nodes.

I haven't purchased anything yet but what if I do not use my tomes before the end of the season? Do they carry over to the next season?

If you don't buy the tome it closes at the end of the season. You will no longer be able to claim things in it.
If you buy the tome you may continue to unlock and claim things after the season.

In both cases 2000 tome points will carry over to next season, the rest of you points will be spent by zos to autoclaim things for you and otherwise disappear. So at the start of any given season you will have no more than 2000 points available.

As to what happend to the rest, it's somewhat confusing!

There's a post from Gina saying that once the season ends all points over that 2k will autoredeem anything unpurchased, starting with the most recent previous season. I'm not sure how that tallies with them saying you have as long as you want to complete tomes if you buy a premium version and the free only ones disappear.

Does the auto purchase only apply to the free ones when they go? Do we need to complete old challenges to complete old seasons if points are moved to the new one? Did they not say weekly challenges will only last 10 weeks? Or do we need to spend points from the current season to finish the last even tho that'll leave us even shorter for this one?

If the autoredeem works for all versions, it could be really problematic. Say all you want is the mount but you don't get around to buying it, say you're a page short. Then the new season starts and 2k is moved to that and the rest are spent on all the things you didn't want. Now you have a load of trash filling your bag, an even more cluttered collections page and are even further from what you actually wanted.

As I understand.
Unopened tome crates from premium or ESO+ carry over do don'r rush to open them to get some stuff early.
You can spend the rest on stuff you prefer, else it might buy stuff you can not use automatically like buffing riding skills then having all character slots filled.

Now you can not re-roll the weekly challenges once your done one? I kind of hoped you could 😺
Well has to do two nICP tomorrow, still miss weapons.
