What culture/origin is mesa stalker?

So much of it seems like is has a khajiit motif, but I really can't see the khajiit making those silly feline headpieces... The monsters on the shoulders seem like they're from different provinces as well.
I know the kitties like Azura usually, so that's the only other connection I can think of with it being in the dawn and dusk tome. Not sure what other influence is present in the style.

What is a mesa in this context? And is it monsters they stalk–as ascribed by the personality and pauldrons?

I immediately thought of the Predator Mesa. But I'm not sure if that's supposed to be the reference as what they wear is different. Still, those Khajiit hunt Khajiit for Hircine. So maybe that's supposed to be the vibe?

Very cool. I still wonder why they would make those helmets though...

Are there any lorebooks to the style pages, like with other motifs? I'd love to learn more about it and to own some more khajiit designs for my kitty characters.
As it is now, I just had to guess or be in the know as to whether these are just a random interns designs which are not meant for the setting (which I usually have very little interest in buying), or if they had a place in tamriel– and therefore my characters.
