Eso live was pretty disappointing

And so is the roadmap. At least watching the chat roast the battle pass was great, people really seemed to hate the idea. But you say you want feedback, so here is mine.

How long are we going to have to wait for any kind of real balancing to get base classes up to where subclassing it? Because from what i saw its looking like it wont finish til well into 2027. No mention of the new pvp zone. Doesnt look like were getting a new pve zone either, plus more reused content. And no, i dont think this night market zone counts if it comes and goes. Doesnt look like were getting new dungeons. No significant performance updates. The battle pass model is an L. No new class, which to people like me is no surprise, i figured they were done adding classes after subclassing, but apparently many people expected it, and its just an L.

I just dont think what was shown is substantial enough, or exciting enough, to stem the bleeding of the player base. And more importantly, bring people back to eso. Plus some of the most important changes will apparently take years to finsih, which is nothing new but still disappointing.

In 2026 it seems like we will have the same issues as 2025. Less content, same old issues of balance because of sublcassing, same class identity issues, same performance issues. And to me thats the biggest issue. Player count dropping is just a death spiral. It impacts every aspect of the game. Barely any new players coming into pvp, a lack of players doing pve activities, a lack of community. Queing for anything in this game feels awful. Imagine wanting to que into a battleground with a friend, lol good luck. And theres another issue that wasnt mentioned, the fact that so many people hate the new bg system.

Sure there is some good sprinkled in with the mid. Apparently were getting a lot of new events, thats good. Maybe this new system will be good, maybe not. A trial is good. Some of the changes are good. Mentioning things we want is good but, when they wont come for years, its kind of irrelevant. Better rewards earned in game is always good, pvp progression may be good, overland difficulty is a wasted effort imo, but something people have asked for. Oh, and the dk skills looked really good. But balance is more important. And god only knows what these new animations will do to performance.

But otherwise this just seems lackluster and disappointing. Maybe this roadmap is incomplete. Maybe we are getting a new pve zone, a new pvp zone, and some dungeons. But i think these roadmaps have been pretty accurate in the past when it comes to the bigger features such as dungeons, zones, trials, systems, etc. So if this is it, I highly doubt it does anything to bring people back to eso. Like what is there to be excited about here? Maybe some of these things will be shockingly good, but so far it looks lackluster.

And this is not to say i dont think some of the things they are doing are good, or necessary. They are. But this is the ripple effects of sublcassing. Now you are playing catch up to try to balance the base game classes, because a lack of balance, a completely stale pvp/pve meta, and a lack of class identity, is chasing many veteran players away. And subclassing also seems to be one of the reasons we are getting less content, which is chasing causal players away. Which is why i think we are going to have a repeat of 2025. Slowly losing players without a reason for them to come back. Hope im wrong.
