New Life Event is extremely dull

Yeah, I’m not sure how the devs would take the comments in this thread. Some people are complaining that there are too many events, others are complaining that this one wasn’t engaging enough. Not everyone is going to agree, not everyone is going to be happy. Some of the recent struggles with the game have been because of them listening to the wrong players and trying to appease them, in my opinion. There is no way to tell here on the forums if a post reflects the majority or not, that is the main thing to consider.

    I don't agree with this.

Yeah, you are right when you say we all want different things. But I personally see more people criticizing the same things:
    • everything has been made for years now to make the game very easy for new players
    • PvP players feel abandoned
    • endgame players feel abandoned
    • we get half of the content we used to have in the past for the same price
What I want to see is ZOS try to do something big and worthwhile. For instance, I'm not a huge fan of the subclassing system, but I admit it was a serious try from ZOS to bring some serious change to the game. At least they tried something, even if I don't like it.
I did the new quests and they were alright, I don’t know if I’ll do them again because of time constraints. I think we should give them some credit for doing them to add something new.

Sorry, but no, no, no, no, and no. I paid full price for the Solstice event this year, and it was really bad. A bunch of new quests (that are not even translated into my language) is not enough. I'm expecting far more.

If I go to a restaurant and get an awful main course, I won't congratulate the chef if I get an ok-tier dessert at the end.

It's been 11 years guys. It's time to stop encouraging them for a few new quests. We paid 2 billions in 11 years, we deserve more than that.

I don't want them to change New Life. It works well as a catch-up event for the end of the year. If we skipped something we didn't like, we can make up for it during new life. I think that's perfect for this time of the year where many of us are playing less often in favor of spending time with family and friends for the holidays. It is supposed to give a festive holiday chill vibe and it succeeds at that, imo.

Yep, and like I said in another post, I don't want anything complicated for this busy time of year. Being able to do a quick quest to get tickets is fine with me. It's one of the more successful events. I've seen lots of players around doing the quests.
This game won't get any better if we keep applauding ZOS for everything. A few new quests is not enough. After the cr*ppy year we got and the price we paid for it, we should ask for something bigger and better.

I'm someone who could hardly be accused of applauding ZOS for everything lol. But I'm also trying to give credit when credit is due. For me, having new quests is good enough for new life and was a nice surprise. I've stuck to doing one new quest a day. It's been nice to log in every day and have something new to do, even if just for a few minutes. Events could use a revamp, especially the reward system, but New Life is one event that's fine as it is.

And for this specific event quarter, the Julianos house reward rocks!
