Unblockable stuns should NOT be a thing in PVP

IMO they should not be unblockable. They should only reduce movement speed for a big amount OR reduce a big stamina cost of the opponent.

This would make combat more fluid, make 1vX more viable AND again make combat more fluid. It's just stupid and a bad design to have a 7 sec window

    Stuns are fine like that, only stun I personally dislike is the "double stun" of the DK with Fossilize.
    If you would have said the same about the Warden charm, I would have been with you, because that is actual bs.

    Stuns in the game would actually not be much of a problem at all if it weren't for the lack of consistency in CC immunity and the constantly bugged ‘break free’ mechanic. Hell, the Warden charm wouldn’t even be so bad if you didn't have to jackhammer the break-free button to get out of it, and only succeeded half the time. Also, the forced movement bugs that leave your character having a seizure or stuck in a wall.

    You can be stunned for a solid three seconds if things line up against you properly. In a game with builds that can put out tens of thousands of HP worth of burst in seconds, that is a literal death sentence you can’t even escape.

    ESO pvp without unblockable stuns would just be a bunch of people staring at each other holding block. With no way to drop someone's block, everyone would just spec into SnB.

    That's why all todays unblockable stuns should be a stamina drainer. Not work like regular attacks against block

    You are lucky there's no guard break in the game on top of stuns, or poise and poise breaks, as well as parrying.

    Maybe there should be lol.

    Stuns are fine, they're literally the only check people have for tanks and some sweat builds, as well as necessary to bomb some of the same problematic groups people hate so much in cyrodiil.

    You don't know what you're asking for. If you hate them you should use them more yourself.

    I think stuns are fine but i personally think that they need to be toned down A LOT. All battlegrounds has been for a long while is stun lock hell.

    They need a bigger cooldown, and like the other folks in this thread said, the CC immunity and buggy break free stuff.

    It only feels broken, because it actually is broken. If they fix what is broken, then stuns would finally feel good, and more importantly, actually rewarding.

    Getting rid of them would mean perma block tanks would be everywhere again. Yes they are still there but the stuns are one of the only ways to get a window open on them. Even with the proposed stam cost you said, it really wouldn't do much to them.

    But I do think currently there's just so many stuns in the game that it feels like stun immunity doesn't work half the time in BGs.

    The thing is in an ideal game scenario you would want unblockable stuns to have a telegraph. Unlike with what we see with something like fossilize where it is instant. Something like charm should be fine, but its animation is hidden in today's proc soup where we have a million different animations going off which likely are not important. (yet we wonder why the game has performance issues)

    Unblockable stuns shouldn't be on everything like how zos is commonly doing now. The tanking problems should be actually addressed instead of being bandaid fixed with making every stun uncounterable. What happens is you make combat tedious and annoying for everyone just in the name of stopping the 1/1000 pvp tank players. For instance the permablock situation became an issue when zos changed block cost to trigger every 1/4 instead of every 1/8 second. Which drastically helps the tank avoid costs when dogpiled. At the same time back in the day almost everything could be blocked. So a single player would be able to use dots like caltrops and tick many more block costs against a block tank. Plenty of other changes to talk about too before we even need to think about making more unblockable stuns.

    We changed many of these rules for newbie Role play reasons, which funny enough only made more niche rules making it hard for newer people to understand and get into the game.

    hard disagree with the OP

    stuns are the only thing stopping
    * unkillable 70k tanks
    * people with trick builds who sprint off at 3020343 mph
    * people with 60k resistance but somehow 20k spell damage and 25k pen
    * ball group healers

    stuns need to stay.
