Please need help

Hi. @ZOS_Bill @ZOS_Bill @ZOS_Bill @ZOS_Icy
I need u help. A very good friend SilencedMajority of mine got banned.
My raid, which plays difficult content, is suffering because of it. Without him, our teamwork is at risk. It's hard for us to play without him.
Our friend SilencedMajority is a very good, quiet, and calm person. Like all of us, he's had a tough year.
We have very poor treatment of LGBT people in our country. And then your ban was a huge blow to him. The game was the only thing that brought him joy during such a difficult time.
Please unban him. He has repented of his actions (he still hasn't told us why he deserved such a punishment).
Your help in this will make one person happier.
Without it, unfortunately, we will abandon this game.
I would be very grateful if you could respond with your decision.

Can you provide their ticket number? It will help them be able to look into it.

Just a heads-up that if your friend keeps opening new tickets, it simply bumps the incident to the back of the queue.

Just a heads up, putting in multiple tickets on the same issue can move them to the back of the queue and slow down support's response. [Woops I guess Loot posted while I was typing, didn't mean to say almost the exact same thing xD].

I'll just add too that while the forum staff can certainly check on tickets and make sure they're being processed by the right staff, they do not review bans and that will have to be handled through the outlined appeal process; and they likely cannot provide information about a player's appeal either publicly or to a person other than that player.

I don't know how well this works if someone is banned for a good reason, like bad behavior or something financial.

Your friend might want to at least share (with you, not us) what actually happened before asking people to vouch for them. It's suspicious that they didn't explain what they did, but expect help anyway.

Or they could just be horribly embarrassed at the whole situation. Always best to not speculate about such things.

Hey @doctorosen I contacted our Support team to get the details on these tickets and the situation. Your friend has an appeal open with our Terms of Service team and it is under review with them. They will need to wait until our TOS team has concluded their review; they will reach out to your friend with the final decision. Please also advise them to refrain from creating new tickets. That only slows down the process. Thank you!

it has been determined that it did in fact violate the Code of Conduct. Due to this, the appeal to remove the deactivation on this account has been denied due to the evidence within our system for cheating/exploiting and Account Sharing.

Due to the extent and scale of the violation, it has been decided that the ban on this account will remain in place, and that all services related to this account shall remain deactivated permanently. This decision was not made lightly, and it is final.

This is absurd! My friend hasn't used an exploit in his entire 8 years of playing! This accusation is baseless and unsupported by evidence! He also hasn't shared his account! It's as if you don't know how to refuse someone, so you're making up excuses!
Why do you repeatedly unban other players who RMT and exploit, but you don't want to unban someone who constantly creates online, buys ECO+ from you, and pre-orders chapters?! This is, at the very least, unfair and disrespectful to the long-time players of your game! Not to mention your lack of respect for the LGBT community!
My friend has already repented of his actions, unless, of course, you consider going invisible a teabeg. It's a very strange decision on your part to deny someone who brings you money the opportunity to play.
I'd like to hear your exact reason for not wanting to drop the charges against this person and restore their ability to enjoy their time in your project with the people they met here.

How would the random support person know your friend is LGBT? You know it's counterproductive to scream "Bigotry!" at any occation because it makes people not take discrimination seriously anymore? This harms LGBT people.

That is an automated response they give, just have your friend keep replying to the ticket and eventually a human will review it. I had the same problem
  • LennaTheRussian
But at the end of the day if they did actually cheat/exploit and account shared then the ban is justified. Just because they pay the developers doesn't mean they earn the right to an unban.

Thanks, I was feeding my friend.

We've been playing for too long for me not to know about this.
And besides, my friend is too honest. Moreover, there was an incident when ZOS broke his geodes, and he went to craft sets for the raid without knowing about the problem. Is this an exploit now?

Not trying to be rude, but the most disrespectful thing in this thread toward the LGBT community is hiding behind the community to make a violator appear to be a victim.

Could be I don't know, ZOS won't tell you the exact reason usually. They'll just have to keep responding to the ticket asking to speak to a real person. Took me like a month to speak to a supervisor on the phone.

Okay, what's so weird about me worrying about someone? It's that they've been crushed by this whole situation for two months. It's ruining our ability to play together in difficult content.

Being part of a community shouldn't work as a pass to break rules with no consequences, we're talking about a game here, whatever the reasons were, I really doubt ZOS would ban your friend over something related to that, there are better ways to victimize someone, maybe using arguments relevant to the topic in question?

What's weird is claiming someone didn't do anything wrong, then saying they repented.

Agree, and it also makes me think of previous times when the forum was used by bad actors in order to gain sympathy from the community to pressure zos into making a bad decision.

Of course I don't know if that is what's happening here, and I hope zos will fully investigate and make the correct decision. But it sounds like the appeal process needs to play out between the banned player and zos; it's not going to get resolved by trying bypass that process on the forums.

I have a feeling this is more of a translation issue as it appears the op is not a native speaker and may be using translation apps or something similar. With that kind of thing, the nuance of how he talks or a slang way of speaking just won't translate.

There is nothing wrong with worrying about someone and trying to help them. But if they really did knowingly do something wrong then they have to face the consequences.

I think threads like these are totally unproductive on a public forum and should remain a private case.

We have only half of the information; we can't unban you and we can't judge what the infraction was.

I have been playing online games on PC and console for like 30 years now. Never have I been banned. If people get banned there is usually always a part of the story that isn't told. Especially if they won't reverse it after an appeal.

Also using the LGBTQ+ community as reason to try to influence people is pretty low. Being part of a minority doesn't give you the right to special treatment when it comes to the rules. (And I am saying this as someone who is part of that community)
