Hunt for great Mage is broken

2 Soul flayer sites are marked, and I did the western one 1st. You need Skordo the Knife to destroy each Flayer. After completing the western one, the area marker for theeastern one disappeared. I did find 2 soul slayers or flayer just south of the fellowship forge, but nothing happens. THe western flayer is still showing as needing to be completed, and Skordo shows up when you enter the area. But the other site is MIA.

Same issue but worse ...

I did the west first, then did the east, then its sent me back to do the west again and is stuck at search the area (the paper I need I picked up on the first go of the west)

I abandoned the quest in the hope I could pick it up again but now I am stuck with no Skordo to pick the quest up from and no way to get him back.

Main quest is now fully broken on this toon.

You need to destroy both flayers then find a document. Once you find it the other area will re-appear. Repeat.

There does seem to be an issue doing the Western one first.

I did the Eastern one first, it completed then I went and did the Western one. After completing that, the Eastern one popped again and I can't complete it.

If you find the document on the west first then its sends you to east, then back to west for the document again which you already have so then fails.

I dropped the quest and the managed to grab it again (if quite a bit further back) using the zone guide

Not a great work around but it does at least get you back onto the path

Can confirm- do the east side first. Had to abandon once and did it this way no issues.

I think I will wait for the patch before doing any more of eastern solace and its bugs.

Do the southern location first, then East. When I did east then south, it had me go back to east again but the document was already read.

or maybe it's triggered by reading the document before taking out the 2 machines. I did read the document first when I did the east camp first. after i abandoned and retried, I did the machines then the documents at both camps and no issues.

Yes, if you listen to the "helper" that shows up when you get to the Harvest areas they tell you to destroy the Soul thing's once they are destroyed they tell you to search the area. When the search the area phase start you finds and read the books.

I was rather annoyed at how far back abandonig the quest took me, other than that doing the east camp first worked fine.

The real question is why is this zone so much buggier than every other smaller dlc zone release? Maybe this new format for the year long chapter is why? Unsure. Any thoughts?

Had the same issue. Abandoned the quest and restarted by going to zone guide.

When you get to the 2 sites, I did the west first, destroy the soul slayer machines first, then grab the note. Go to the east site and do the same thing, soul slayers first, then note. It completed for me.

I'm at Find the Hidden Cache and it says to compare the puzzle to the drawing, but I have no drawing.

Should be in quest items. If not:

Top: Green
Middle: White
Bottom: Red

Well, this is a bit worse than expected. First I had to abandon 1st story quest because Skordo did not appear and I was not able to finish holiday quest.

Meanwhile something happened and skyshards are not available for me. Because I had collected western skyshards too early.

Now here I have to abandon this quest and restart it and go east first

And when I completed first public dungeon (Writhing Fortress) it stayed marked in black (got some achievement, but dungeon was not marked as completed). Then when skyshards became "collected" this dungeon was marked as completed too. And I don't know if it is finished for me or not.

Next quest (The deep Tombs...) is bugged too. If you move the stone directly on final position instead of opening the gate then dialogs are completely wrong.

In Sea and Sword lodge when you go one level up quest marks (circles) disappear from map.

@ZOS: please fix all these. Game is going to be unplayable. Literally every step in Eastern Solstice is buggy.

I had the same thing just now. I had started on the east one, then did the west one, then that sent me back over to the east one, which had respawned on the map, but I couldn't complete it because the document was nowhere in the vicinity. Re-reading all the documents in the quest items didn't help either. I had to abandon the quest, start from the very beginning talking to Prince Azah in the camp. This time I went west first and then east, each time making sure to destroy the flayers first before reading the document, and at last it completed.
