I did the WF on PS/NA last night, and successfully turned in the quest. Now, that door to the WF is now the entrance to Eastern Solstice, and the entrance to the WF is not there, and nor is Skordo with the quest. Does that mean we can only do the WF once per character? With normal public dungeons, you obv can only do the quest once, but you can re-enter as often as you like.

I do know about the bug that the fortress isn't resetting, but people reporting that bug are able to enter the fortress. I cannot on this character.

A 2nd character went to the entrance and Skordo was there with the quest like he was for my first character. But I could cross on the 2nd character. I couldn't cross back, though. Had to run to the nearest wayshrine and port back.

    Wait, what?

    You know, I know the idea of the Fortress was that you were a single footsoldier in a zerg running into the battle, but did they honestly design a whole thing that in all likelihood most people will only see a small part of while a zerg of randos completes it for you?!?

    I know so many groups that were hoping to prep rosters like a trial so they could explore it from start to finish, and now we can’t even do it with our friends to see everything, and can’t go back in if we missed something?!?!

    It’s hard to imagine how much more content we could have had if they hadn’t wasted any dev time on something that we can’t even realistically experience fully.

    On PTS (during the EU copy weeks) I was able to go back in to help friends after I'd gotten my first clear, so I assumed it would be free to enter after completing the instance. That character didn't have the Crossing the Wall quest, though (hadn't done any of the zone quest on Solstice), so maybe that was why.

    It's hard to say how much of the current situation is intended or just bugs, though. :D

    I wonder if it will be like other areas in the way that once you have done the quest you cannot re-enter BUT you can join a friend who has yet to complete the quest?

    Still seems silly even if this is the case though!

    It's such a disappointment. We did prep a roster, people came back from hiatus. I had already been informed here that it would be public but I didn't want to say anything. The dungeon itself was fun. Different. But there must've been 60 people maybe at 8pm on psna. I don't think I even got to see all of it. The article talks about upstairs and downstairs like HRC. All I got to experience was defending people using siege weapons and popping a bubble to give a shield so we can get siege parts and kill storm callers to make the final boss come back. Then it was just over. I couldn't believe that was it.

    Then to top it off, the rosters my social guild put together, some couldn't even do it. They thank us for our patience and understanding as they work to fix something that should've never released broken. I'm glad of the communication but man oh man, the announcement for next year needs to be epic after this mess.

    I would be happy if I could do it once… we’re all stuck at last boss… who fled…instance completely stuck PC-EU.

    Okay. I can get back in on my original toon. There's a portal at the wall, and when I entered, there were others there. And the smaller wall blocking the center way was up, so I assume the fight is active.

    My apologies. That portal wasn't there earlier. I bet the 2PM hotfix added it.

    Yeah, that was before today's hotfix was rolled out. Folks should be able to get back in to run it as many times as they like now. We are investigating a few issues that were newly reported this afternoon, though. (I'm working on compiling that list with statuses.)

    The dungeon relies on splitting tasks very much, so yes, this always makes a player miss some parts. First you need to decide whether you head for the Eastern or Western wing of the fortress first, and it's possible that when you've cleared that one, the other side has already been cleared by other players, so you see nothing of that. And even within a wing, you need to split up into at least 2 groups in different situations, so you only see half of that part.

    I did two runs this evening (had to - first was bugged right at the end), in the first one, I only got to experience the Eastern wing and shortly the end boss fight of the Western wing, but nothing inbetween because some other people had already cleared that. So during the second run, I chose to do the Western side first to experience that part, too (and this time, I didn't see the Eastern side because it was already cleared by another player group in the meantime). Since the tasks themselves are creative and fun (if you get to participate in them), this would actually increase replayability. Which makes it even less understandable that this is a limited-time thing.

    The big problems right now are the horrible bugs, of course. But without those, it would actually be a fun dungeon. With reasonable rewards, I'd enjoy replaying it from time to time, which would also be a way to choose different tasks every time and therefore see everything once after a few runs. I really think the dungeon should stay. It's clear lots of efforts went into designing it (the execution is a different topic, sadly), and now it will take efforts to fix all bugs - which just seems like a waste if it's gone again after a week.
