Dark Metal Cubes lead bug?

Posting on behalf of my partner. We've ran bastion nymics at least upward of 300 times and counting and they have yet to get the lead to drop. They've gotten it once, and they have every other lead unlocked for the second music box, but the Dark Metal Cubes seems to be bugged or something because how has it not dropped again for them after literally hundreds of runs? Is the drop rate really that abysmal or is this actually a bug? I have personally ran hundreds of Bastion Nymics with them and they have only gotten the single drop and never again in hundreds of runs. That just seems impossible to me if it's not bugged somehow.
