Raise the cap of Competitive to 80. This would fix a good major. ToT is too quick and is oversaturated with power players, this would give other decks time to counter and make the game truly competitive. Leave casual to 40 for the people doing the daily

I think this would drive too many people away from the game. I think it would be better if they rethought some things, especially patrons and irritations like the sorc king patron, which, once in play, effectively rules out any other play style, eg by locking it like crow once it's already in one player's favour, and the price of the rahjin patron.

I continue to think, also, that each player should have the ability to veto a deck during patron selection (adjusted where a player is only in possession of the base decks). This should be balanced by the introduction of another deck that includes Rahjin's ability to remove prestige to ensure that strategic balance is preserved.

There are also some easy interface things they could do to make the game less opaque to new players. Have the function of the cards made clear from their iconography without having to roll over them, for example, and state combos as number of cards in total, not number of cards minus one, which is just weird. On patrons, eg again sorc king, instead of telling us how the patron is calculated and requiring us to count up our own cards, the game should be doing the maths and telling us precisely how much power the patron stands to give us.

It might also be an idea to set a limit on the number of agents, not only because the forces amassed can get very silly, but also because with too many agents the game becomes exceptionally unwieldly to play.

Card draw speeds also need to be sped up, and stopping you from doing anything while an animation is in progress gets very silly.

These are all in my opinion, obviously, but I tend to look at things from the point of view of making sure the game always offers more than one strategy to win (otherwise it's just boring), and from the perspective of remembering just how long it took me to get to grips with the game in particular because the interface is not at all beginner friendly.

Right now this game is extremely toxic. It breeds power players and they needs to be a viable way to counter them. It would be like people play magic, but using nothing but burn decks, it ruins the game.

The best way I suggest is to make competitive power cap higher as a way to make other decks viable, if that pushes a few people away from the game, than so be it. Its a card game, it's not suppose to be over in six rounds. It should take skill to win, not just stacking power.

I do well with competitive play by prioritizing econ. I don't share the sentiment that power cards are all that.

Raising the threshold to 80 would slow down matches too much in mostly negative ways. I think 40/80 errs on the low side, and 50/100 would be a tad more to my liking, but it's okay where it is.
