LIGHTWEIGHT FURS is wasting time with such a low drop rate

This Auridon Light Weight Furs drop rate is absolutely maddening low.. Sap not too bad. Essense of Dead not bad and Fat Meat from Trolls kinda irritaitng but not horrible.

BUT fighting people to get a shot in on some wolves and bears and the drop rate so low I may stop doing them and looking at this Measley 28% writhing wall completion, my fear is people are going to get bored, and Siege Dolmens are going to start taking forever too!

ZOS increase the Lightweight Furs drop rate Please. The rewards are not even making up for the time spent.

Thanks!

There are 5 huge Chapter-sized zones in AD. Ignore the circles on map. You can go anywhere, literally anywhere in AD, with the below creatures. The underlying event design and drop rates are fine. But whoever wrote quest made things so much worse by bottle-necking everyone into a few tiny circles that cover maybe 1% of where you can get these drops. You'll have more luck in the other 99% of the AD zones.

The actual gameplay is actually nicely designed, giving you the freedom of many creatures and many zones to choose from. Then quest author made it look so much more restrictive.

Stranglers also drop them. I guess they eat furry creatures and have trouble digesting the fur.

That being said, the droprate is ridiculously low for a repeatable fetch quest. Furs, fats etc should be a guaranteed drop on kill. The whole idea of the event was to work together to defeat the Worm Cult, right? Not to have mini pvp on who can kill overland mobs the fastest.

Those drops are messed up just like the rest of the event. Not only drop rates are crazy low, drop sources are screwed up too. I got creature fat from covenant soldiers and spiders in Stonefalls. I guess the do have fat too. It could be that those drop from all creatures in the zones instead of a few select types

Yup. One of the quest markers puts you right near a bunch of imps and some Senches too. Makes that one pretty fast and easy. I actually have a harder time bothering with trolls, personally.

My go-to for lightweight furs is to port to my house in Baandari Trading Post, then take the south gate exit and cross the river to the camp on the west bank, which is overrun with werewolves. It usually takes no more than four or five werewolves to get enough lightweight furs, although sometimes a werewolf doesn't drop lightweight fur or might not even be lootable at all. On the other hand, the werewolves seem to respawn pretty quickly, so it doesn't take long to get enough lightweight furs.

Maybe not feasible for every level of player, but for these event dailies I always go for world bosses of the mob type required. I effectively always get the amount of furs/essence/etc needed after two kills.

    AD furs
    Nindaeril's Perch in Grahtwood (tiger)
    Hircine's Henge in Grahtwood (bear)

    DC undead essence
    King's Rest in Alik'r (lich)
North Shore Point in Glenumbra (zombie)

    EP fat
    Short-Tusk's Hillock in Deshaan (kagouti)
    Caravan Crest in Deshaan (guar)

    Sap
Rootwater Spring in Greenshade (lurcher + strangler)
Deathsong Cleft in Reaper's March (lurcher + strangler)

I discovered last night that Guar and Giant Snakes also drop animal fat, which expands the places you can get it considerably. That was in Shadowfen on my way to the invaded delve down on the east side - didn't even need the Kaghouti that litter the hill the delve entrance sits on.

All drops drop from multiple creatures and are not contrained by the quest boundary shown. If you need Covenant furs then ANY furry mob in ANY base game Covenant zone will drop them.

Some things drop from unexpected sources, like sap drops from the humanoid mobs near lurchers, or essence drops from bloodthorn near undead.

I've had lightweight furs drop from wasps. I guess they've got furry wasps. There's no rhyme or reason behind what does and doesn't drop the needed items for any of these quests, it seems like your best bet is to go anywhere in the zones of the relevant alliance (but not any of the places the quest tells you to go, because those seem to be the places where you're least likely to get what you need) and fight literally anything because it's totally random what enemies do and don't drop furs or fat or whatever. Other than making note of the alliance whose territory you're supposed to be collecting in, it seems that your best bet is to completely ignore the quest markers and everything that the quest tells you and just go kill random things and hope for the best.

In other words: the Stirk Fellowship supply jobs might be the worst quest design in ESO ever. I certainly can't think of any others that are even close to as bad.

On other occasions, I've had furs drop from ogres, and spriggans.

See and this right here exemplifies why this event design is so bad. Because the quests make players compete against each other for PVE kills you have players trying to keep their grinding spots secret. A well designed event would encourage players to share tips and help each other to have a better/easier time playing the event. Instead we've got people actively trying to keep other players from figuring out how to complete the quests more easily because it might make it take slightly longer for them to complete their own quests.

Thank you so much! The animal fat one is one where I hadn't quite gotten a great space yet.

I'll leave my own tips here.

Lurchers in Glenumbra, by the Wyrd tree.

Imps and Senches - Reaper's March, near the quest marker.

Undead Essence - Bloodfiends in Rivenspire, near quest marker.

No, dude. It exemplifies a lack of a sense of humour. /facepalm

I spent the first 3 days of the event in various zone chats telling people they weren't constrained to specific mobs or the designated area; as well as telling people in the guilds I am in where they could find good concentrations of mobs.

Your poor attempt at humour notwithstanding, you were displaying a common reaction I've been seeing in /zone when people share tips on where other players can find drops for the event quests: people who already knew about those places get mad that they're going to have more competition now. Which is the exact problem with the design of these quests.

Undead essence -- Zombies in Alik'r Desert. I usually go to Motalion Necropolis, but Alik'r is pretty much overrun with zombies from west to east, so many other locations are also good.

Creature fat -- Kagouti in SE Shadowfen, in the area where the New Life fishing holes spawn. I was also killing durzogs in west Deshaan, but the Kagouti in Shadow seem to be more numerous.

Golden sap -- Lurchers in Glenumbra. There are also spriggans at the mill outside of Daggerfall, but the lurchers near the Wyrd tree are my usual go-to for any "kill plant-based creatures" endeavors.

Lightweight fur -- Werewolves in Malabal Tor. There are werewolves in other Dominion zones, but I find that the location SW of Baandari Trading Post is usually a good place to get this done quickly.

Speaking of werewolves, I've often wondered why there are "kill vampire" endeavors, but as far as I know we've never had a "kill werewolves" endeavor. /scratches_chin
