Class Change

I'm looking to change one of my alts from a Dragon Knight to a Sorcerer but I cannot figure out how or where to do it. Is there a token or shrine or some other thing where I can change this character from Dragon Knight to Sorcerer? Thanx.

There is no mechanic or method to change a character's class.

Subclassing is what we got in lieu of class changes.

You can't, there's no real class change in ESO.

    You basically have two options:

    a) Start a new character as the class you want

    b) Depending on what skills you want to have, you can multiclass (subclass). However, you must always keep one skill line from your start class active and you can''t take two lines from the same other class.

To subclass you need to speak to a NPC in Riften, Bangkorai or Dune

If there was a class change token, you wouldn't have to create a new char .. and then ..

_no need to spend crowns on skyshards
_no need to spend crowns on skill lines

So, changing a name cost nothing to zenimax, so it's implemented.
Changing class has an opportunity cost.

      That's too bad. For me.

I hate Dragon Knight. It's no fun at all. It has no real melee abilities and no real ranged abilities and it's damage production is lackluster (although that might just be because mine doesn't have that many Skill Points because I don't play it that much because it's no fun at all because...) At least Sorcerer has impressive ranged abilities. I'd rather have multiple Sorcerers instead of one Dragon Knight. Which is what I was thinking of doing with mine.

There's no way I'm spending another six months leveling up riding abilities on another toon and also however much time is needed to max out crafting and the other Skill Lines. I guess I can either keep dicking around with my DK or just park it until ZOS changes subclassing to allow us to learn AND keep other class Skill Lines in ADDITION to our toon's base Skill Lines.

Thank you for the information. I think I'll go drown my sorrow with that 64 oz tub of ice cream I just bought. I wonder if I still any syrup left...?

Thankfully there's subclassing so you can basically be whatever you want to be now.

People actually waste their crowns/money on that? Well, to each their own.

Well, you don't really to max out crafting again to be honest. And the other skill lines don't take that long if you know what you're doing.
But that's your decision to make of course.

Use my DK for crafting and PvE Group runs, sometimes for PvP as well. No complaints. If I wanted to run around like a Sorc then yeah, that would be something different.

Just subclass with Ardent, Templar Aedric and Sorcerer Storm class lines and you have the one of the best cleave melee builds

The same way all solo builds heal themselves, ring of pale order if you have it and resolving vigor/scribed heal

All three of the skill lines in that build have heals.
        • Ardent Flame has Cauterize.
        • Stormcalling has Critical Surge which is a very effective semi-passive heal. Also has a passive boosting heath recovery.
        • Aedric Spear has Puncturing Sweep .

Not a bad start before even taking Vigor into consideration.

Are you serious about no melee skills? What is Whip? And talons? But different people like different classes. DK is one of my favourites.
One of the features of the game is making different classes, so just try another class. Levelling riding can pass surprisingly fast. Perhaps make a few other class characters and level each of their riding each day.

There are so many options now that the arguments for class change or multiclassing have become redundant.

Also redundant now, however, are most of the reasons for playing multiple characters - which is doubtless a major factor in people playing ESO a lot less than they used to, assuming they still play at all. The combination of account-wide achievements and subclassing has seen to that. Add in the performance issues that some players are still experiencing and it's not surprising that active players are commonly reported to be down especially in the competitive gameplay and trading communities.

This exactly. I use puncturing sweeps and crit surge which gives more healing than Pale does.

As a casual action gamer. I have been thinking that "class change system"
is better idea than sub-class mech.

Yesterday, I tested sub-class system. The case is Stam-Sorc/Arcanist. But, most of class already has own
damage shield and healing skill (both direct and passive). With combination PVP vigor healing skill,
then we have both magika and stamina based healing method anyway. And our maximum skill slot is
only 10 (5 each for main and back up bar). There're not much option.

I felt sub-class idea is still redundancy as game mechanics.
