Big Ozur Gives Up

I was solo(with Mirri companion) fighting Big Ozur World Boss in Reaper's March on a tank so his health was going down slowly but surely. Then at around 57% he just drops dead and no one else is around. It was funny like he just gave up, but it must be some sort of bug?

Have you done this before? Preferable the same boss
It was very close to 5 minutes who is the boss reset time. Make me wonder if it's a safety feature in case boss is stuck or something?

This is what happens when you don't achieve a good work/life balance.
Big Ozur lost his wife through years of neglect, his kids don't talk to him anymore and he doesn't have any friends because he's in the office all the time... and then one day he realises he can't do his job any more.

A cousin of his in Wrothgar is obviously struggling with his mental health too.

Are you running some kind of lesser used proc set here that's slowly doing damage? Might be a health desync bug that flew under the radar.

That is hilarious, but it does have to be some sort of bug, since the addon you were using said he still had health? Could it be addon related IE, the addon said it had more health than he actually did?

I do know that there have been times (and I don't use combat addons, so this is an ESO issue) where I will be fighting and the enemy will just start standing around, I can't hit them, and then they drop dead. I assume it is a desync issue there.

Bar looks standard, I kind of wonder if this is an boss reset mechanism as boss or adds could be stuck inside rocks 6 years ago so if boss been in fight for 4:30 minutes he dies.
Interesting if some repeat this.

Yeah, it would be interesting, I can't remember whether I have had any really long boss fights, usually not, because I don't tend to like long fights so I typically only fight when I know I can take them down myself, or there are plenty of other people around to help.

The boss died right after the adds were killed. I keep wondering if that has something to do with it.

I think I know what the issue was. It was not showing or updating the damage(on the boss healthbar) Mirri Elendis(Companion NPC) was doing.

I fought it again today, and it takes about the same time(around 4minutes) to kill it fully with its health going down consistently and more quickly but this time with the damage numbers showing from Mirri's hits. Another player did arrive at the end it was already near death but since it was already almost dead it shows that with the same character, skills, gear, and everything that it dies about the same time in this one too.

I didn't have any damaging proc sets or anything. I have Bloodlords Embrace Mythic, Dolorous 5 pieces, Cyrodiils Crest 5 pieces, and 1 piece Baron Thirsk for recovery.

Also my UI was base game I think not from an addon, I do have Combat Metrics but that only adds the little black box that shows the dps, time in combat, and stuff. I also have pChat for the time in the chat and Comps world boss timer which shows the cooldown when the boss will respawn after it is defeated. In the base game combat settings of the Game Settings I have everything as Always On.

Good to know that Big Ozur isn't just having an existential crisis there!

I had sort of thought it might have been something where the health bar wasn't updating, it may even be related to the issue I have seen where enemies will just start standing around until they just drop dead.

There are some funny bugs in this game. (by that I mean haha!)

I remember shortly after Zerith was released, I had him and I went and updated his outfit. It was during some event and/or golden pursuit where you needed to kill world bosses, so I was in auridon fighting the heritage boss at the top.

I go into combat, and I see zerith just standing. Not doing a thing. I move around to get him off the rock he was on, and still nothing. Then he apparently noticed me looking at him disapprovingly because he started drawing his weapon and immediately putting it away. He kept doing that, I think, for the entirety of the boss fight. Fortunately I didn't need him to help kill the boss.

Only thing I can think of is he liked his outfit too much and didn't want to get it dirty!

The next boss fight he fought normally, but I was like 'okay, why aren't you fighting?'

That’s happened to me a lot with standard mobs too. Now that I think of it, it really does only happen when I have a Companion out.

I assume it’s a desynch from server to client.
