Immediate crashing when loading in

The game has been unplayable for me since yesterday. Sometimes it freezes immediately after character select, sometimes on the first loading screen, sometimes I actually load in and can see (but not select) the login reward. Here's a few relevant threads on Steam of others having the same issue over the last two days.

Has anyone found a resolution? If I don't get on today, I won't be getting the Firewalker personality this event. Sad.
