1. Merchant's Plummet Bridge, Stros M'Kai.

When someone else tries to cross the bridge and falls into the water, do a

/bellylaugh

while pointing at him as he scrambles back up the beach for another try. Shortly after he quits (and probably goes back to harvesting), cross the bridge yourself (easy if you know how) and zone chat:

It takes intelligence to cross the bridge at Merchant's Plummet. Those who are not wise will never cross.

Then watch him try a few more times and fall into the water. Very amusing!

I always thought it was uncrossable, but apparently not:

    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Rash_Merchant's_Plummet

But considering there is nothing of interest on the other side, an invisible wall blocking the way, and no achievement related to successfully reaching the other side, it seems clear that the bridge was not intended to be crossable.

    Yes, you can get there.

We used to search for that kind of hard to access places with my friend and climb /horse jump wherever we could. It was fun.

Over the last years the level of "invisible walls" usage is so hideous that we stoped trying.
They appear even in places where you easily should be able to walk or jump to. (for example Shrine of Vakkan - WB arena, check those columns.. its just sad)

The are quite a few of those incredibly rickety looking bridges around that you will fall through, one is in a delve in Wrothgar, one in a delve in Summerset.

I was so disappointed when I got across that bridge and found out there was nothing there. I was very new to the game (although I think it was after the beta tests) and when I first saw it I thought maybe it was the start of a puzzle or a hidden area like some other games have, so it was disappointing to realise it was supposed to be uncrossable and just an excuse to block off part of the island (a very small part, but still). I wasted so much time exploring every inch of the starter islands before I understood the game doesn't work like that.

I agree it's pretty mean to laugh at a new player for trying to explore in an RPG. It's a reasonable assumption that it would be possible without resorting to silly tricks because whole areas are blocked off with invisible walls.
