PvP rewards are gonna be PvP rewards and no amount of stamping your foot and demanding you get what you want without doing the necessary tasks to get it is gonna change that.
    [edited for baiting]

not sure if you got my point, its 1 zone out of 44, i dont mind about cyro, i have friends, doing pvp and i support them, its ok to me, but icant ask them to escort me while fishing in the IC. thats why i said do a "leave me alone" mode or get this zone out from the achievement, if there would be 20 zones in pvp to get this boat i wouldnt do it.
    got it?
and additional: how much gold and mats do you have?
as i said: ive got enough gold and mats to support friends, but pve or housing is a bit different from pvp

That takes away from the point of having any PvE activity in a PvP zone. While in those zones even if the player is there for PvE they may have a PvP encounter. Some of those players decide hey I might give this PvP thing a try. So PvP gets a new player they never would have found if that player could have had a don't touch me flag on. It's good for the game for players to participate in a variety of activities. It's pretty much essential for the long term health of an MMO.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

If you're going to the PvP zones, you're opting in to PvP.

(The PvE content in Cyrodiil is rubbish and shouldn't be there).

And the Reverse about thw Imperial City, that shouldn't be PvP at all. Especially since there's more PvP variance than PvE variance.

That was the dumbest mistake they ever made. It would be better for a PvE kill the most mode. Still have leaderboards for it but for weekly telvar gained.

[edit] Besides which.. the Master Fisher achievement required Cyrodiil fishing. Yet you managed to accomplish that one.

I will just say the fishing etiquette in ESO is terrible. Back in my WoW days, playing on a PvP server (all zones had PvP enabled for those who don't know), if you saw an enemy player fishing you greeted them, stood by the next available fishing hole (you never stole another players fishing hole - ZOS encourage it with additional treasure fish drops; a bad design choice imo)and enjoyed the scenery and calm*.

*The exception was Stranglethorn Vale zone on a Sunday - there was a weekly fishing competition and that place was brutal. Guildies would aid their friend in winning by eliminating the competition.

I'd love this so much for IC and Cyro.

Solo story mode for trials and dungeons would be fun too

Although all that's been asked repeatedly throughout the years ><

If you hate the possibility of PvP just don't do that. It's not worth your time and nerves. But that not a solo game so removing something you do not enjoy from the achievement would affect literally every other player. My IC angler was quite a fun time personally and made me some stories to share later with guildies etc. unlike Cyro where I've met zero resistance or any engagement.

Also every "DND mode" player would take a spot in Cyro's population count which is highly limited currently and each of those would have an obvious effect on alliance balance overall. Can already imagine some 20-30 people guild going for a skyshard run occupying literally half the alliance's spots leaving pvpers outside whilst keeps getting flipped.

They could do like a seperate server for it. Like this server only is the DND server

I should start a thread about making trial mounts available for tel var since I'm personally not interested in doing trials and don't want to waste my time slogging through robot mechanics and overstimulating arcanist/templar laser show.

eso got its credits not from pvp but from skyrim, oblivion, morrowind, daggerfall and arena, but maybe you are to young to know

In the time you have taken to reply to this thread, you could have gotten the IC fishing achievement, even if you got killed a couple of times while doing it.

People have given you helpful tips to make it easier, too.

If you go there and are killed while fishing, what is the problem? You can respawn at the base, go to a different district and continue fishing there, as all fish a foul fish.

I went to IC to do the dailies today and I got killed once by a player and once by the mobs because I wasn't paying attention. And that's with running around all over each district to complete the quest objectives. If I had gone there for fishing, I likely wouldn't have died at all. I did run into people from other alliances who were also questing and we left each other alone, but at one point there was a group of DC players that I tried to stay away from as groups can be a bit chaotic.

Again, if you are fishing in IC and someone kills you, respawn at the base and go to a different district and continue fishing.

You would have to be very unlucky to be killed repeatedly, especially if you are being stealthy while fishing.

Would you like company? I have a character on the EU server, though I'm not sure how much bait I have there.

I empathise with you on this. I completed my master angler yrs ago and I didnt get killed once. I went when it was empty pretty much and you only have to fish on the edges of the city so there are lil covered areas to hide. I found cyro much easier. I went in on my stealthy night blade. Now with with subckassing you can get the shadow skill line if you dont fish on a nightblade.

You got this...remember that most papers are not interested on killing one lone fisher when they got bigger fish to fly

Also I took on the attitude that it made it more challenging and exciting fishing in pvp areas. 😀

    Best of luck.

I mean a mode where you cant attack other players or NPc's (in the IC i dont need to collect tel var stones, but fishing :D) and you cant be attacked by other players or NPC's?

No. Just no. Cyrodil and IC are both PVP zones, so expect PVP.

I'll be honest, I fished in Cyrodil for my master angler achievement before they had the event that made it virtually guaranteed to catch the fish you need in a few casts, and I completed it in less than 2 hours. It wasn't all that bad, and I got killed zero times.

If you are on XBOX NA, Blackreach right now is a dead campaign and it is CP-enabled, so you can go in there and fish and benefit from your CP. And if you die, its just the nature of the beast.

If you don't care about tel var then you won't be carrying much anyway if a player does happen to kill you. Besides that, there's literally nothing else to lose by dying to a player in PvP; You don't even lose armor integrity unless it was an NPC that killed you. Last time I went fishing in Imperial City I ironically ended up with a fishing buddy from another faction lol.

That said, it helps to come prepared and to play during low pop. Personally I ignore players who are obviously questing and not engaging in a PvP objective (flags typically) because I think the Imperial City quest lines is one of the best written quests in the entire game and I want them to experience that, but part of the thrill is being threatened.

They surely can, but that would go against new player acquisition strategies they already have with all the possible items, cosmetics, currencies, sky shards etc. that would make people interested to check the zones out and maybe sticking with it if the experience was alright. Those are present not just to reward already existing pvpers but to lure new folks in. Most players probably had no idea that PvP can be fun for them if not for some particular thing they wanted from the IC or Cyro.

thanks, been there done that, at 1 am mesz european summer time, :) though so to say in the night, was killed by some otherone from pact (did it with my covenantchar) and thats what i meant with "leave me alone mode" if you cant be attecked while youre fishing its no problem, if someone from another alliance tries to kill you permanently, it doesnt make any sense, not even for others when they get only 20 telvar stoneses as a reward or nothing :disappointed:

and of cause used the fishing food (artaeum pickled bowl or so) and went to stealth (including fishing cp) :)
