How is it possible that PVP groups enter in solo 8x8 battlegrounds ???
I think it's because the match making system for BG's is just plain broken. Plus two team battlegrounds are just horribly lopsided fights due to the fact that there's only two teams. So one player on one team, if they're really good with a good build, can blow the whole MMR of the tracks. (I'll likely never play another 2 team battleground because of this)
There are four main reasons two-sided BGs are so much harder to balance when compared to three-teams. Do you think you can help solve any of these critical flaws?
Another thing to consider on top of the flawed matchmaking system, is there may simply be very few people participating, especially at off-peak times. So if players from a pvp guild suddenly all solo-queue at the same time, some may end up in the same match and even on the same team because there aren't many others in the queue.

I often solo queue with friends to play at the same time, and we get placed in the same matches more than half the time--but not always on the same team.
Sometime I get put on a team of solo players who seem like we're playing in tandem or in voice, even when we're not.
I've also had solo queue matches that I was suspicious had groups on the other team.
It's just happenstance. The population that regularly plays BGs isn't that big, and a good chunk of them are in a BG guild together.
If there's 500 BG players in a guild together and only a couple hundred people queueing for BGs at any given time, of course there's gonna be people from the same guild ending up in a BG together.
That doesn't mean they're grouped. Heck a decent amount of the players in the main BG guild on NA can't stand each other.

There just aren’t that many people queuing for BG these days, especially at high MMR. If a group of people from the same guild all queue solo at the same time, odds are very high they’ll end up in the same match; either as teammates or as opponents. It’s not like there are 12 different 8x8 matches going on at any given time to drop people into.
Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you. ~Friedrich Nietzsche
There isn't anything to stop or prevent anything in 2 team solo bg. They just treat it as a free for all que. Like all the other changes, I don't see them putting any effort in after doing this change that no one asked for.
This recent update has made me sad. Sad for the game. Sad for the community. Sad to pay whatever it is now. I want the previous eso back.
We're not a pvp guild but sometimes when my guild does like a drinking night we que BGs solo but we count down and hit que at the same time. Sometimes we'll be on the same team. Sometimes half on the opposite team. Sometimes half in a different match. It's all random and not nefarious. You kinda gotta be drunk though. Since every. Single. Match. Is a roof stomp of one team or the other. It gets boring being spawn camped while they take every objective or the other way around. Winning like that is fun s couple times then it's just sad.
We often queue solo because the group queues take so long - now with the 7 player start it might be better haven’t tried it, but we do often end up against each other or sometimes one or two will end up completely solo from the rest and sometimes one or two never get a queue at all. The MMR system seems random to me sometimes about how it decides to pair.
Pretend I ask you to arrange a match of eight people against eight people based on the last 100 matches the sixteen people played.
After the match is done, I ask you to do it again with the same sixteen people based off the last 100 matches.
The data on the players last 100 matches will not have changed that much after one match, so the teams you generate may not change much either.
My impression is that we don't actually have that many players in queue so the matches don't change that much because the players don't change that much.
For example a couple weeks ago I got put on a team with a player that was complaining about losing constantly. I was put with them for four or five matches in a row on my team. Needless to say, I lost all four or five matches in a row with them and then finally won when they finally quit queuing.
I would guess some of the issues with matchmaking are potentially expanded by the fact that some of the players that aren't that great at PvP really want to win because they are primarily present for the XP and some players that are quite good just want to kill people.
Below is an extreme example of this in action another person posted on forums a little over a week ago.
I think if a large guild all queue at the same time and there aren't a lot of other players running BGs at that time, it's entirely possible they can reliably all end up on the same team.
I'd love it if we could have proper guild v guild in 8x8 BGs though. Particularly if you could choose which guild to "challenge" It could be a nice way to help less experienced guildies get some PvP training and practice.
