They know what is scheduled to be changing, but they prefer to hold back the patch notes until they know that the patch has gone through as intended. They don't want to find that something got omitted at the last minute for e.g. technical reasons and then the forum got flooded with "you promised "X" would be in this patch, it's in the patch notes" complaints!

The person who writes/posts the patch notes is not the same as the people who come in at 3am to actually implement the patch. Patch notes appear in the morning pretty consistently within the timeframe of someone arriving to work during normal business hours, getting a cup of coffee, maybe attending a morning sync, and pressing poast. Obviously they're not going to do this the night before due to reasons already mentioned.0 -

That was when the post was first created on the forum. It wasn't made visible to us until well after this thread was made.
Gina did it the same way when she compiled the patch notes.2 -
