Unable to find Aldimion's Journal (Not in Harborage after Chasing Shadows)

Hello -

I recently returned to the game, and as part of that I've been replaying everything from scratch. I've been trying to fill out my Eidetic Memory on a character and I'm completely unable to find Aldimion's Journal. I missed it during the Chasing Shadows quest and went to the Harborage to find it, as it was supposed to appear there post-quest according to information I can find online such as the missing lorebook post and their sheet which shows all missing books, bugfixes etc. - however it's not there. I've tried using the LoreBooks addon to pinpoint its location in case I'm missing it, but i feel like I've combed every inch of the Harborage inside and out and can't find this book anywhere. According to the screenshot below I should have my mouse cursor right over it or very close. I double checked just in case it's an issue with the addon not recognizing that i have it, but confirmed it's missing from my Journal - when clicked on it says I have not found the book.





I have a couple of characters, so I just checked on another with a bit further completion and I have it there. I'm pulling my hair out, please help - especially if I'm missing something or making a silly mistake!

I'm on Steam/PC, EU servers. Affected Character is Qa'vassa Sajilspaer, I'm looking in the Ebonheart Pact Harborage.

Yeah, you will need to finish the starter quest. The quest is given by the Prophet.

That's the issue. I already have - I've completed the main story quests so can no longer access worm's retreat.

Have you tried? It's not a portal opened by a prophet. You ask around town and get sent to an underground lair. Is the entrance to lair blocked off now?

I'm not sure, but I think maybe any quest-specific books and papers which can be collected as lorebooks will only show up in or around the Harborage if you actually read (clicked on) them during the quest.

Yes. I've gone back to the areas where the instance was and there's no interact option.

I have completed the main quest and all Books in Eidetic Memory / The Five Companions are clear, so is Aldimion's Journal.

Can confirm, that the original Instance to find the book (The Worm's Retreat) is no more accessible and in the Harborage are only the 9 Chronicles of the 5 Companions existing. No Aldimion's Journal.
Seems that the post quest location in the Harborage (as UESP stated) is missing. Could only check the Dominion one.

Let me ask this, Cadwell`s silver and gold will send you back but through another alliance. Have you completed those two?

You cannot enter another alliance Harborage. That`s why you have the silver and gold quest line. Your`s being Dominion would only allow you to access that one.

I wonder if the reworking of the Harbourage (it's no longer a solo private instance, but players are hidden from one another if they happen to be in it at the same time) has affected this in any way? It could be that the journal got overlooked when working through that process and it's staying hidden for everyone.

Both silver and gold complete for me, yep - Though I've been looking for that darn book every time i go in there, and it hasn't appeared at either first completion or completion of silver/gold.

Plus I've only ever entered through the EP Harborage - even during silver and gold, the other Alliance ones were locked.

Maybe start another character then from time to time go to one of the places and see if it is unlocked then delete the character. Seems like the only way, I did check my character account and the book is in there under The Five Companion`s section.

Yep, the Chasing Shadows Quest is where you would get your chance to grab it. Three quest in and you have your chance.
