ToT viewing opponent's cards

I think ToT PvP would be a lot better if you could not view your opponent's hand/draw and cooldown piles (unless a card or combo allows you to do so). If this were a real card game you would not have that ability, so why is it allowed in ToT?

Just a suggestion of course, others may disagree.

As a bonus suggestion, if you play 2 of the same agent card, they should combine, merging the value and HP of the original cards into 1 new card. This might help reduce agent bloat on the board.

Not disagreeing with you, just trying to find the reasoning behind it: I'm guessing it's there to lower the gap between ppl who don't/can't keep track of the cards played, and the ones who do/can. Removing this feature would mean that new players get slaughtered by veterans who join the unranked queue (which is happening anyway, but it would be much worse).

This feature wouldn't be needed with a proper ranking system that puts you against opponents of a similar level though...

I almost never use this feature to look at my NPC opponents' cards, and use it only occasionally to look at my own cards. My preference is to focus on the cards which are actually in play, rather than to constantly look back and forth between my cards, my opponents' cards, and the Tavern's cards (as I see streamers doing when they play Tales of Tribute) in an attempt to play a "what if" game based on possibilities that might never occur.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

You cannot view the opponent's hand, only the draw/discard piles and the tavern.

And to add to that, when you look at the opponent's draw pile, you only see how many of each card they have, and not which order.

@ESO_player123 that's not accurate. Technically you don't get to see exactly what is in the opponent's hand, but you do get to view their draw pile with their hand so it's often pretty easy to know what's in their hand.

@Solariken That might be the case at the start, but as the game progresses and the players' decks grow it's harder too make any assumptions.

I consider this a part of the strategy of the game. Simple as that.

Obviously I do consider it part of the current strategy, hence the suggestion to change it lol. I think it's an unnecessary feature that makes no sense if ToT is trying to emulate a true card game.

I would not want it to be changed because playing and jotting down what's where is not my kind of fun. Yes, my memory is not that great. Besides, having ToT as a true (RL) card game would be very tedious with all the card moving with Almalexia and coin counting with Druid.

If something needs be changed in ToT it's the OP cards such as pounce/grand larceny. Viewing is fine.

You only get to see the total number of each type of card in their two piles. You don't see the draw order. And if your opponent is passing cards directly from draw to cooldown via Psijiic deck, likely it's inaccurate information as well since those cards are never exposed. You only get to know which cards are definitely in the cooldown, and which cards are or could be in the draw pile.
