Ping since last maintenance

@ZOS_Kevin since the last maintenance my ping has been insane. This is the only game affected. All websites are fine. I tried a dns flush. I have reset my router. I did a traceroute and it's the last bit that is broken. Again, this happened with the last maintenance. I can no longer play without a VPN, and it isn't ideal. With a VPN I can get it around 300. Without a VPN it jumps around, but stays substantially higher. What happened and how can it be fixed?

The ping is still broken since maintenance before last. It appears to be Akamai which seems to be some service you use. Are you going to address it or is the game just going to be unplayable from now on? It's been extremely unstable. My normal ping is 270-300. Currently, since that maintenance, it's been 270-10,000. Yes, I have tried it with 0 addons. Trials look like a slideshow. I have already been talking to tech support. So far, we haven't been able to find any issues on my end.

If ESO is using this service to protect the game from attacks then what difference does it make. No service means attacks which makes high ping, use the service which makes high ping. Darned if you do, darned if you don`t. There is nothing out yet to mitigate this attack by ZOS and give us the playability that we need.

Yeah, but something changed maintenance before last. While 270-300 ping isn't ideal, it was playable. Currently with up to 10k ping... it is unplayable.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Icy @ZOS_Kevin anyone. Now tech support is saying to contact my ISP about YOUR service? What?!?! My ISP can't do anything about Akamai, the service ZOS uses. This is a ZOS issue. This is currently unplayable. I've been playing since beta, but I can't play with 10k ping due to a service ZOS uses. They even point out that it is Akamai in their response to me.

    Email:
    Greetings!

Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team. My name is Jason, and I am a member of an advanced team who will be assisting you with this matter.

I see you completed all of the Windows Diagnostic tests, and are reporting that the issue was persisting, after checking the computer for errors, and repairing them. We reviewed the Tracert & Pathping report results that was provided, and in the Tracert at hop 15, it shows a timeout before it continues however, in the Pathping at hop 15, it fully stops at this point, and does not continue.

You may need to refer to the images of the results that were sent, and contact the ISP you use to report the issue, and where the drop is occurring so they can check those IP's where it is timing out, and address the routing issue.

In the pathping hop 14 is the last one showing as completed, and the information about it is: po110.bs-a.sech-sin.netarch.akamai.com [23.57.106.243]

This may give the ISP a starting point to check the routing infrastructure being used by the connection.

Once you have contacted their support team, please let us know the results.

    Regards,
    Jason

    Are there ANY devs around to help at all? Seriously, anyone. Please help. @ZOS_Icy @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Kevin @ZOS_Bill @ZOS_GregoryV @ZOS_KaiSchober @ZOS_Hadeostry @ZOS_AmeliaR @ZOS_BeckyIchnoski @ZOS_BrianWheeler @ZOS_CatK @ZOS_RichLambert

Tech support basically told me my problem is with Akamai, then left. Akamai is hired by ZOS, so shouldn't you guys do something? Aren't you paying them? Shouldn't you hold them to a standard so people are able to continue playing? I get that it is only people that are in certain parts of the world having an issue and you have fewer players over here, but still. I don't know what else to do. I can't play with the ping like this. I've been supporting this game since beta and early access, I'm going to be so sad if I have to quit because of this.

The ticket was escalated on 8/27.25. Still waiting on an agent a week and a half later. So far, about a month of 500-5k+ ping. @ZOS_Icy @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Bill @ZOS_Kevin anyone. How do I get some help for this? Akamai, the service you guys use, is timing out/not responding causing lag spikes so high I just have to log out and not play. It's not constant, but it's every day at around the same time. When it happens I just have to quit the game and not play again. This happens during my main play time... meaning at this point I may as well just quit the game. I really would prefer you guys fix the issue instead as I really like the game and spending time with my friends in it.
