Mammoth too small? Try a Polymorph

The awesome Mammoth mount is quite large, but compared to the Mammoths elsewhere in the game it's a bit of a runt. Want to make it bigger? Well I found out that the mount size scales to your character size quite considerably. Shown in the picture is Azander on his Mammoth and me on mine after adding the Lich Polymorph, this is the Polymorh that increase the character's height the most that I could find. The result is a much bigger Mammoth lol.

uhhm, shouldn't all mammoth mounts be the same size for everyone? As it is a crown store item.

Mounts all scale to the character's size. A taller character will therefore have a larger mount.

The thing is that some polymorphs (like Molag Bal or the Minotaur) set your height to a specific value regardless of what you put in, so that makes you taller (or shorter in the case of the goblin), and therefore will scale the mount size as well.

Here's a height map I made for my characters that includes the minotaur polymorph. I tried to scale everything to be the exact same by matching their pose and position and scaling to an offscreen picture so I could see them all together, and the Nord at the end is a max height Nord (the tallest a character can possibly get). And the minotaur absolutely dwarfs him.


Another fun consequence of scaling mounts is the two-rider mounts. It will scale the mount to the height of the driver, so the passenger actually gets scaled to fit, making both characters the same height regardless of what was set up for them.

Dropped by Belkarth last night and there were already three mammoths clustered around the wayshrine. One of them was also jumping on the spot from which I learned that, while mammoths are bigger than frogs, frogs can jump higher...

I can almost hear the soon-to-be-incoming player requests now:

"ZOS, could you make it so that, while in a city, any player on a mammoth will automatically be scaled to the height of the shortest Wood Elf, so their mammoth mount will automatically be scaled to the size of a pocket mammoth? Thanks!"

I should point out that the reason the Mammoth is the size it is because your comparing it to a Skyrim Mammoth, the mount is a Timber Mammoth, you find them in Malabor Tor and they are a bit smaller.

They are also friendly.
