Please help me out understanding how to become eligible for gifting.

Hey there, just as the title says, I am at an impasse regarding the eligibility for gifting.

Brief background, I play since 2015 intermittently, I've done all the story content (except Solstice but I won't buy that content pass bullcrap) and here in the forum I have around 170 posts, not the highest of activities but it exists. After many cities and apartment changes I was back since March, logging regularly and claiming every daily reward since, plus daily dungeons with 3 characters.

Now, I've dumbly invited my wife to play this game, which now I totally regret, and I wanted to gift her something here and there.

Imagine my surprise when I found out I cannot be eligible to give gifts because:
"Your account must show consistent game play activity and/or be active in an in-game ESO community prior to submitting your application to be considered for eligibility to participate in the ESO gifting program."

...
...
That's where I thought some cameras might show up in my room and realise it was an elaborate joke.

What else am I supposed to do?
Play 10 more years?
Write bullcrap in the forum just to raise my "numbers"?
I'm open to suggestions but for all I know, I regret showing my wife this game, between this, U47 and the change with content pass I'm kinda ashamed that I brought her into this mess.

Nobody outside of ZOS knows the full details on how to unlock gifting. And there has been a recent incident where a player with seemingly good intentions got gifting unlocked for them, but they had many red flags which caused them to be permabanned both in-game and the forums within 24 hours.

Can't you purchase the Crowns for your wife's ESO account though?
    PC-EU @maitsukas

Posting the Infinite Archive and Imperial City Weekly Vendor updates.

Also trying out new Main Quests, Companions, ToT decks, Events and Styles on PTS.

Join a guild and do stuff with them

    Don't buy carries

Do buy the occasional stuff for yourself

That's about all anyone can guess because they don't share those details with us.

It kinda defies the niceness of a gift...why even bother having the system :'D

Well, all this is included in the "I've played for 10 years" :D and that implies being on a subscription (nobody can survive that long without it). I used to have 3 months subs but I refunded and switched to 1 due to how crappy the servers are currently faring...it's a game that doesn't inspire commitment to me :/ and with this episode I'm kinda proven right.

What baffles me the most is the tone deaf approach about all this...some people cheat the system?
Well then what, you close the entire system so you make sure that NOBODY has fun? Even the ones who'd do it legitimately?
I've seen people shooting themselves in the foot but this is a whole new level of self destruction...surely the investors are happy, they are the most important customer to them...I wonder if somebody has done some math of what they saved vs. what they've lost with nobody gifting anymore.

Giving someone an item or the crowns to buy themselves the same item has the same end result.

Hi All, we are going to close this thread down. While we believe everyone is asking in good faith, we would like to avoid a scenario where bad actors try to use this to get around our guidelines by collating information.

For those interested in gifting, please refer to the thread here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/677754

If you have applied and not gotten in, please feel free to reach out. Happy to take your ticket number and check in with the team for further investigation.
