Tideborn blueprint drops

I think like many I farm tideborn blueprints in the broken light temple. As I do a lot of housing and my master crafter wants to craft stuff himself I am really looking into getting and learning most new blueprints.

While two maintenance days ago I rarely but still got occasionally one since then nada zero none at all.

Has farming location switched? Is drop rate botched?

Can sb help my master crafter here?

Swencoast has nightstands, wardrobes, backpacks, etc.. that while not as many as urn farms, they are easier and faster to loot. As well, less aggro to deal with. Start at the bottom, work your way to the top. Preview a house you don't own then exit to the same spot from where you left. Reverse your path back to the bottom floor. Rinse/Repeat.

I use Walliq's house in Sunport. It's tresspassing to be in there, but it's a quick 3 floors of containers, and walking out the door and back in resets everything. There's 3 npcs to watch out for, one on each floor, but once you know their patterns, they are easy to take out and avoid.

Someone told me recently that urns have a poor loot table. I have only got one blue plan from the temple, absolutely nothing else. You would think having hundreds of them to farm would help but I am not so sure.

It’s just ridiculous that once you get a blue plan, and it’s almost always a base game plan, that character is done farming until the cooldown is over.

Greens and blues have static cooldowns. After being on cooldown for both, you get only whites, although a purple plan can still drop between these. If you are just after purples, you can continue to farm until that toon drops one, but after that, I find it doesn't drop any more purples until the daily reset.

Yeah I know about the blues but I’m not sure greens have a cooldown. Once I get a purple I get nothing else but whites, just like when I get a blue.

I’m just commenting on the high percentage of base game plans in the loot pool for Solstice.

    EDIT: typo

And there you are wrong regarding the purple :)
Cause recently i had 2 purples, with a different time drop from eachother on same toon.

As you can also see no it is not a homemaker double drop, cause it where 2 different urns where a "seat" is in between that is blocked by "using" due to addon ;)

But yea it has only happened once to me i got a drop like this ^^

Where were you that you could loot both a Fargrave and an Alinor furnishing plan from a container within a minute of each other?

Maybe Research Folios. Those have no cooldown afaik.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. They're not looted from containers, so there is no cool down. Or, at least one of them wasn't.

Broken Light Temple in Solstice. It could be indeed possible that 1 of them came from from a "Research Folio", as they tend to drop there quite a lot. But the alinor one wasn't as the lootlog didnt mention a drop of those (i have them set to auto open and loot the folio's). Can't sadly check back that far regarding loot log, nor that was the only part i screenshotted -.-'

That's why you were able to get 2 purple drops. One was a container drop, the other a folio drop. The anti farming cool down applies to container drops. Alinor (and Murkmire) plans do drop in Solstice. But Fargrave does not.

(....) It’s just ridiculous that once you get a blue plan, and it’s almost always a base game plan (...)
It amazes me that you, in a DLC zone, have higer odds to get a plan from base game rather than a plan from the DLC zone itself.

I've been trying to get new plans lately but the ratio drop is atrocious. At least to me.

Drop rates are the same. Though the Broken Light Temple was never the greatest place to farm furnishing plans. People just think it is because it has a lot of urns.

Swencoast Cottage is much better. When you're farming furnishing plans, speed is key.

Thank you for this advice. After having tried it for some time I am not sure if I should continue with Svencoast or Broken Light.

While Svencoast has containers that potentially have slightly higher drop rates for blueprints the number of empty containers per run is pretty high limiting the number of containers to loot (I am currently doing a statistics during my runs to evaluate the average ratio of empty to filled containers). In addition traveling from and to a house costs time as well.

My overall issue however is that while I do get blueprints in all qualities (purple of course being really super rare) I simply do not get any tideborn blueprints anymore. All sorts of basic blueprints, sometimes rare rail blueprints but zero Tideborn ones - irrespective if I loot in Svencoast or Broken Light.

There's no difference in drop chance between the different type of containers (except in Necrom but that's an outlier). It's a matter of efficiency and speed. You can have 200 urns scattered throughout a delve/public dungeon/landmark/etc.. but that doesn't mean much if those urns are scattered all over requiring navigating aggro, requires more precision to target, and all around inconvenient to park all of your alts there for the forseeable future. Especially if your farming alts aren't really built to easily tackle any aggro along the way.

That's why places like Outcast Inn in West Weald, or Councillor Jirich's Manor in Leyawiin/Blackwood, were so popular when those zones released.

Thanks for the reply. You have some interesting points.

Coming back to my issue with non-dropping tideborn blueprints: Do you have an idea why they don't drop for me?

I used to get some two weeks ago and before from time to time. But since then zero although I even increased my time put into farming...

    RNG. Random chance luck

[edit] Well, at least as random as the game's RNG system allows for in a simulatated random number generation method anyway..

The one for the drops is "Loot Log"
The other is called "No Interact" and i used a custom command while looking at the seat: "/nointeract seats"
Also has command to toggle on/off the blacklist, but you can see the commands at esoui :)
