Need ground cover for Houses

So many houses have bare spots in their yards that I'd like to fill in but there just isn't and good ground cover for these areas. Anything that comes close to matching the surrounding grass is small and takes several to cover even a small area.
Please give us some large ground cover is different shades of green to fill in our sparse yards.
