First of all: overall, I enjoy the visuals since the Update. The performance .. I am not so sure.
There are some more issues, a few that are rather stark, some I am "not sure" about and somee that are more about preference.
So, lets start with bugs / hard issues:
- Massive framedrops in Solstice Delves. Here the Framerate is low. Might be 30fps, might be way lower even. This does change however if you just get the skybox into your camera or are at the outer edges. The Solstice Overland however seems to be fine, the Writhing Wall too doesn't seem to drop any frames. Just the Delves.
- No more performance mode. The PS5 Pro mode is not a 60fps mode. But I really want one.
- Performance
Stark variances of stability in framerate in different Trials. Osseins Cage seems to run at a rather stable 60 throughout. Lucent Citadel, once you are at the orb, is really unstable. Same does go for Dreadsail, there performance does kinda degrade towards the end as well. Something worth to mention here: Image quality pretty much always stays superb. It feels like the image never wants to drop it's 4k (or whatever it is) resolution target. For me, a more agressive reduction on resolution would be preferable. I prefer stable performance to high resolutions.
However, if we move outside of trials - it's generally fine. Overworld content, delves, group dungeons, those run smooth and frames are only dropped on those occasions where you suddenly turn around and the game needs to load stuff it didn't expect it to.
- Weird menu beheavior / fps (not sure-section

)
I .. don't know what is going on there. It feels sometimes I got 60 fps menus. Like CP, if the champions tree pops and is at 60fps, you immediately feel it. If it isn't ... well, the same, you immediately know, due to the animations, it is lagging or reduced to 30 fps. Not sure why the menus seem to vary in framerate, but they should not, it feels really weird. It is not equal for all menus, because some just feature less animations. But I enjoy my menus at 60fps. Would be nice if they could be stable.
So yea .. I really like that there is support for PS5 Pro. I am .. somewhat disappointed in the implementation though. There is this PSSR btw. - didn't work good with every game, but with some. But did a really good work on those games, where the base resolution to sample from was higher. I think ESO could have been perfect for this tech, because in theory, it should clean up pretty much all artifacts (aliasing) that are still visible. So .. this is more me thinking about optimizing image quality. Far more important to me is performance. And while I appreciate the high resolution, as I pointed out, I prefer solid performance. If there are scenarios where the game just ... "cant handle" 60 fps on the PS5 Pro .. well, then it can't be helped. Could imagine parts of the game being somewhat CPU heavy. But still, with a little bit of optimization, XBox, Base PS5 and PS5 Pro should be capeable enough to handle a solid 60fps line, even in 12 player content, right? Right?? Well .. maybe I am wrong

But it would be really insightful, if there would be some more information on the technical aspect of the game. It is still beautiful, despite it's age. But due to it's age, the engine is old. Are there some performance bottle-necks? What can / can not be adressed?
Really hoping for a more serious answer on this one - because I am really curious ˆ-ˆ
Anyway, thanks for reading, have a good time everyone, enjoy the game!
