vTrials no oakensoul, no ha

Hey,

Why does every second trial group ask for no oakensoul, no ha ? I get automatically kicked for beeing a sorc and i'm not even oakensoul or hm, people just don't want sorc in trials anymore... What up with that ?

I’m not sure what hm is referring to here but theres a stigma around petsorcs (appears like ha sorcs, which the stigma is truly around) because of average oakensorc ha player behavior. Nowadays we’re deep in an arcanist meta so unless you find a truly casual or “I do not care what you do as long as it’s not absolutely terrible” guild you’re probably out of luck unfortunately.

I'm not a petsorc either and i'm multiclassed with arcanist..

It's annoying, I have the achievement, do good damage, know the mechs and they still don't want me.. Knowing the mechs is more crucial than making 1k more damage because you choosed the right class... I have my sorc for 10years now and like it very much, I don't want to jump on a bandwagon of playing the latest meta, i've never played meta and was always more then abble...

What do you mean by "average oakensorc ha player behavior" ?

Oh if you’re multiclassed into arcanist then yeah I’ve no idea. I mean, it’s less damage than an arc base class but not that horribly off. Maybe you’ve just run into toxic midgamers who are inexplicably toxic ahah. Its not like stamsorc wasn’t just very good the last patch…

Oakensorcs get a bad rep because of the phenomenon where a lot of players who weren’t ready for harder content suddenly had the damage to join, leading them to make mistakes like standing behind the healer. But because they didn’t have to shake off the “I hate meta” mindset to get there, a lot of oakensorc players wouldn’t be receptive to gameplay and build suggestions, instead potentially even getting aggressive. I know, not all oakensorcs are like this, enough were to cause a reputation.

In a trial, oakensorc do less damage than Arcanist beam builds. Heavy attack takes too long to do damage, and does not have good aoe. Supports give the same buffs as oaken ring.

i think (and this is just my guess/opinion) the problem with petsorcs is that the pets have a tendancy just pull add's / bosses uncontrollably - so a lot of vTrial people dont like that.

Pets dont pull unless there is another trigger for the fight to start.

It's people being ridiculous, thinking HA can't perform at vet level, I have no such qualms in groups I run for my guilds. The only place it's an issue is Cloudrest.

I think that’s just an idea people have that’s not actually true. Sometimes it looks like the pet pulled but it didn’t, more likely someone pulled by standing too close and the first thing people see is the pet running.
