Can we please have a "hide chests" option?

With the amount of cool skins and body marks I accumulate in my time playing, I can't help but notice that there are barely any ways to put these cosmetics on display. Why give us all of these body marks if there is no way to display them proper?

Yes I know there are open chest style pages. Sai Sahan is very expensive at 1.5mil to 2 mil gold at any given time. Scorianite is crate-only. Regardless of these styles, just because they are open chest is not enough. These styles contain aesthetics that do not fit well with the styles we'd be mixing them in with visually or from a lore perspective.

Why not just solve the problem with a hide chest option instead of having us work around by using specific outfit styles that don't necessarily even go well with the style we're trying to roll with?

EDIT: Guys, I understand that workarounds such as the bather’s towel and simply removing the armor exist. Trust me, I’m aware of all of the options. None of them are valid answers to this request. I’m asking for a hide chest option and that’s exactly what what will satisfy that request.

While I would like that too, I don't think it will come. There are simply too many visual problems that a hidden chest would create.

Most leg styles, nearly all waist styles and definitely all shoulder styles would look floaty and clippy. Some would look bulky and out of place.

Also, if you want to have a naked chest for displaying your tats and skins, you can simply unequip the chest armour and deactivate the outfit.

I definitely think we should have a "hide slot" option for everything.

Yeah yeah "but but but then people will be naked!!11!1!" But who cares - people do have the option now of wearing no armor (and very few people do) or wearing the Nordic Bather's Towel dyed bright pink (and very few people do). But giving these options would let us play even more with our fashion.

Let us unleash our beast races' claws and not force us to wear shoes or gloves. Let our wild barbarians show off their chest hair. And let us drop the belt buckle from anything that doesn't fit it if we want.

I do run a number of characters with a slot empty for RP reasons. If that does not cause issues, then a hide option should not do so either. Using two five piece sets and a mythic leaves one slot not contributing a lot, anyway.

There are a couple of items that hide themselves, e.g. Orc Belt I on females.

Altering my actual build for cosmetic purposes is really not a viable answer to this ask. Also, the floaty shoulder thing is an irrelevant point since styles like Sai Sahan already do this.

For the waist styles, they could just make the hide chests also hide the waist. I don’t see why they can’t do this.

I have it. This is not the answer to my request. I want to simply hide the chest piece and style the rest of my armor around that, not run around nude in a towel.

A hide option should be made available for each slot, earnable/buyable/however. There's some sort of rigid mentality currently that undermines the "play as you want" branding.

Most shoulders already look floaty, clippy, bulky, and out of place. Luckily we can hide shoulders.

if Hide Chest were an option it's pretty likely Hide Waist would also be an option. i think we wouldn't get Hide Chest until we get hide options for everything else.

Can't do this in combat very well.

Nudity/skimpy clothes are normal in Tamriel. Just look at Dagferfall. And the Arena box art lol.

This is what I love about wow transmog.

    You can hide
    Helm
Shoulder (or transmog shoulders individually in any combination)
Back/cape, or transmog an item like a backpack
    Chest
    Shirt
    Bracers
    Gloves/hands
    Belt
    Legs
    Boots

Just found out yesterday that when I visit the barbershop, not only can I change hair styles. colors, eye colors, eyebrows, mustache/beard separately but I can set my character to male or female.

I'd love to be able to hide any armor piece in ESO and be able to transmog shoulders anyway I see fit.

The Developer Build has has Hide options for every body slot since at least Vvardenfell, we caught sight of them during their chapter reveal Stream. All they've deemed to give us though is shoulders, and I don't understand why. Maybe they don't want everyone running around in their underwear fully geared. I would still like the rest of the Hide styles released though, even if they have to be drip fed to us thru the Event merchant.

Being able to hide your Chest or legs slot would then bring up the request for dye channels for Underwear though.

We are 110% in agreement on this. This is what I’ve always wanted in ESO!

I still remember in WoW when I could finally hide the belt and gloves on my character wearing the Mooncloth Robe transmog style, my favorite look in the game to this day. It was like the heavens opened up and strands of The Hallelujah Chorus rang out. I keep waiting for that feeling in ESO, but so far I’ve only heard a few harp strings when we could finally hide our shoulders. 🎼 🎶 🪉

The ability to hide any slot seems like such a basic thing to be missing. The fact we can't even hide belts when some outfits don't come with a belt always bugs me.

@ZOS_Kevin is that at least possible? When we have (bought for 5 tickets) hjide shoulders in outfit station, we can have it for costumes to?

Would also really like to hide boots on my beast race characters.

And we also need an option to combine parts of costumes with other crafting motifs. I know that there are one-piece costumes, the parts of which are sewn together, but there are costumes whose parts could be combined. For example, the emperor's armor could be combined, but the dress costumes could not.

Would be nice if there was a hide color slot. Where instead of it dying that section of armor it would hide it.

Then you can see all the skin options.
This recent update has made me sad. Sad for the game. Sad for the community. Sad to pay whatever it is now. I want the previous eso back.

At least there is a legendary which allows you to wear next to nothing. Other than that, lorewise you can even enchant your socks and have near impenetrable skin that way. No armor, best armor. A few piercings and you could fight a dragon nude, no problem.

This is a full setup, which can dish out decent damage. Not for min/max or trial vet maybe.
