Disconnected from server every 10-15 minutes

For 11 years, I never had any issues. Then one day, I'm kicked from the server. Log back in. 10 minutes later, kicked off. Log back in. 15 minutes later, kicked off. Log back in, 10 minutes later kicked off. Etc, etc. So many times I get all sorts of errors. The Generic "an unexpected error" is a favorite. 303 is a close second. 103 and 201 also like to show up. There wasn't even any pattern to this. I could literally be doing nothing in an area without any other server activity. Booted. Didn't have anything to do with server lag or anything like that.

I've done a search and there are many, many threads about this issue. I've gone through about 30 of them and they are all describe the exact same problem that I have. Unfortunately, in those thirty threads, I didn;t see a single solution. Just a lot of "tired this. didn;t work" with the thread ending, often with a ZOS rep suggesting to contact customer support.

I've done that. This began in March. Customer Service has walked me through about a dozen troubleshooting steps.

We've done the following:
  1. Power cycle and then test your network
  2. Add ESO as an exception to your antivirus software
  3. Forward the game ports
  4. Reset the ProgramData folder
  5. Flushing the DNS
  6. power cycle your home network
  7. change your DNS server to the Cloudlflare or Google Public DNS
  8. fully remove add ons (as in uninstalling minion and removing the files from the game folder)
  9. Some other things I am forgetting

Nothing has worked. If anything the problem is worse. before I'd get disconnected 4 or 5 times a night, and at least get a couple of hours of stability. Tonight, twelve disconnects in the span of just 3 hours.

So seeing as this issue is prevalent, kind of hoping someone has a story of something they tried that worked.

I get the unsettling feeling though this is akin to the bubonic plague during the Black Death. Once you've have it, you're basically screwed and there isn't anything that can be done. Your ESO playing career is basically dead.

Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

I did there about a post in german forum as well already - same issue - but since literally this year - at least once per session a disconnect.

Usually it starts with " Proplem occured, wait a minute".. (or something like - I play the german client)
then sometimes I can relog directly, or after some minutes - atm I have left the game after 10 retries for some else two hours ago - logged in, what was working, one survey harvesting later - please wait some minutes and try again...

if not some matrix-is-real-and-dont-likes-me-problem is behind, how it RLLY feels like, is it still to see, that this problems not were existing before early 2025.

Disconnects ofc I had before as well sometimes - but really not to even note about.

The only thing I could have a try about - my new mailclient - a tool called mailbird - is since almost same time starts to bother with updates and offers with "Buy a full professional version - or go ahead cheap" - what made me already thinking about to go back to some better working. If this works, I will give my best to remember to leave a note, that it is troubles creating.

First thing I would look at is if your network discards stray/unused/bounced packets, as this sounds like networkcongestion to me. Make sure your network does not respond to WAN requests/pings, and discard any WAN packets that are not yours. On the LAN interface do the same, discard any stray/unused/bounced packets. Also disable the bouncing of packets completely on both the LAN and WAN interface.

Second thing I would try is another/new router. This one router could simply be broken or overheating, especially if it is 10+ years old as you are stating. Unfortunately hardware sometimes just breaks for no reason.

PS: Make sure your network does not re-connect or re-build the connection for any reason.
