Which would you prefer: 8v8v8 (on slightly larger maps), 6v6v6, 4v4v4, or stick with 8v8 and 4v4?

There are a fair number of 8v8s and 4v4s where the (much) stronger side ends up spawn camping the other.

3 team PVP makes this (much) less likely to happen. Especially in 8v8v8, because 4 players typically can not spawn camp 8.

    I'd like the ability to build a match and select the map and my opponents from all the options. Preferably with some form of weekly team leaderboard with a score biased towards "away" games against fresh groups to encourage teams to play outside their comfort zone.

    Deathmatch queue for any format would solve many of the engagement issues I'm seeing with BGs.

    4v4v4 is great and much more balanced (in terms of the actual teams; the gamemodes themselves were atrocious).

    6v6v6 and 8v8v8 would be a bit of a mess. Fun maybe, but probably not enough to justify the long queue times.

    6v6? Now that'd probably be the perfect middle ground between 4v4 and 8v8.

    3 Team was much better than the horrible abortion we must now endure. Khajiit experienced what was, without question, the worst PvP experience in 32 years of PvP (all the way back to null-modem cable doom and duke nukem days) in his first 4v4 battleground -bugged out perma-debuff, perpetual insta-gib.

    If khajiit has to do another 4v4 bg, he will quit the game (after 22k hours) and not look back.

    4v4v4 was better for all games EXCEPT for Capture the Relic which is better in a 2-sided format.

    4v4v4 had the sweatiest and most competitive matches I've experienced in BGs.
    More than 90% of the 2-sided matches end up in spawn-camping or generally boring 1-sided matches. You either stomp or you get stomped- there is nothing in-between.

    I can't agree here. Most Capture the Relic matches in 8v8 go through the full duration. Either you have a lopsided match and a team wins after 3 mins, as they get all 5 relics as soon as possible or one team grabs a relic and starts to defend with all 8 members till the end.

    4v4v4 have better and more balanced matches and faster queues, as there are only 12 players needed instead of 16.

    The big issue with the 2 team is the spawn camping any time there is an imbalance or even just one side ult dumping. For two team to really work you cant have the losing team have to jump down into a prebuffed enemy team AT THE SAME TIME. Unless you are a coordinated 8 man, trickling down is just not a feasible way to come back.

    A better solution would be one way walls that allow the losing team to range out of their spawn, but not be attacked. Another solution would be the moba route and have a soft wall with a dot effect that hits you. Gamemodes would need to be adjusted slightly.

    As far as combat goes I can't care one way or the other. I suppose the stalemate high mmr speed meta nolonger exists. People used to just never attack and run around because they were worried about being 3rd partied. (3rd party always won)

    I miss 4v4v4, I miss the old BG maps, even with all its odds, like 1 game out of 5 was trash.
    Now in 4v4 system 4 games out of 5 are trash.

    With three parties there were more strategic decisions (except maybe Death Match that can work camping the enemy base, and except Chaos Ball that is an awful game mode anywhere anytime :D ) and the 4v4v4 maps were more interesting.

    4v4 is mindless ball-group.

    Ideally I'd rather have 5v5v5 because I feel 5 people party would be more balanced, as 4 is fewer people so more subject to chance regarding the parties' composition.

    The last rework of BG's was a disaster IMO. Two team BG's are horrible with 4 or 8. Don't know what ZOS was thinking when they went to two team version.

    I can't remember a single 4v4v4 match where I had to wait for other players to jump down. Maybe it was because the thid team was trying to kill me.

    Be honest, how many 4v4 deathmatch (or even the other modes) bgs have you seen end in spawn camping/waiting for that one pve player to finally jump down ?

    8v8v8 and 6v6v6 could be a nice idea for an update but zos is never going to take the time to make new maps for them and the queues might get a little long after a while. 4v4v4 used to be just right (ok, except for chaos ball, with troll tanks and people hiding in the mesh, but this mode is even worse in 8v8)
