    @ZOS_Kevin

Does ZOS have metrics based on the players who replied to the survey whether or not they were current pvp players, e.g. Alliance rank / hours played in cyrodiil per campaign?

It would be very interesting to cross reference the results against those who actively play the current content. For example lets say hypothetically that 70% of those who marked in the bottom 3 'interest' categories were very high hours current cyrodiil players. Would that be represented in ZOS's view of the test results?

I think a lot of time players like to affect content that they don't actively participate in, whilst it's good to try and attract more players if it's unsuccessful and pushes away regular users there might be a negative impact.

For example we've seen this with a lot of the balancing changes which lead to large guilds moving away from cyrodiil, drastically reducing the population and 'life' within the campaigns.

I am wondering if this test resulted in any lasting Cyrodiil participation among non-Cyrodiil players.

In other words, more than a well received flash in the pan.

Too bad there was no other announcement or way to participate in the survey so players not opted in for emails never knew they miss survey until it was too late.

Maybe for a few that never tried PvP but not for many as Cyrodiil returned to Build PvP and Vengeance players would have to play this version.

I wonder if these results take into account that a lot of PvP guilds, including mine, logged in for about 10 minutes, saw what Vengeance was like and left to wait out the week or so before returning.

As that means they would have to play regular PvP, I doubt it.

For me, it had the opposite effect - I essentially shelved my PvP character until the next Vengeance campaign. It was too much fun that I didn't really have in regular Cyrodiil.

There was a fatal flaw in this survey. While I understand the need to age gate it, instead of just asking a yes/no about being older or younger than 18, it asked for age classification. There was no way to opt out of this classification, and if you declined to classify yourself (as I did) because you fundamentally disagree with using age as a data point in this survey (as I do), then you cannot answer any of the questions in it. Please fix this for the next survey, and I will fill it out.

For the record, I hated (and currently hate) Vengeance mode. The performance wasn't any different. Large player battles still resulted in tons of lag, only with this singular campaign preventing any other options, those large battles are now constant. The battles themselves were and still are pointless. They devolved into a pure numbers game. The tide of battle swings to whoever has the most players. You're either on the winning team where you can just stand there, do nothing, and win. Or you're on the losing team, where no matter how many players you kill, you'll eventually just be overwhelmed. Eventually, everyone in every group I was ever in winds up leaving with a chat message along the lines of "this is awful, I can't take it anymore, tyfg." The lack of any quests make target hunting and map management boring and repetitious, devoid of practical choices that matter. Even scroll quests, which usually rally all of zone around grouping to share quests, is nonexistent. In fact, in all of the fights I was in, scrolls rarely changed hands due to the perpetual stalemate.

I could go on, but honestly, there's not one thing I liked about it, last time or this time.

Also, I miss looting all the containers :)

I'm sorry- there was a survey??? This 'survey' seems incredibly biased when I've heard nothing but complaints about this mode.

I have been an active PvP player for more years than I can count, running at least 6 hours every week. I know a lot of players and only a few answered to this test.

Cyrodill is the most succesfull form of PvP in this game by far, specially GH. Even if the vengeance model is preferred by some players, there is not reason to remove any other campaign from the game.

After all, this is a play as you like game. I don't know a single active PvP player that would be interested in playing anything remotely close to vengeance. Most players that do enjoy this system are already away from Cyro or just starting to play PvP now.

The way I see, we will still have the current campaigns and vengeance might be some sort of simple option for whoever is interested (we all know how sucessfully the non proc campaign is).

All the members from the PvP guilds I know are using the vengeance test week to farm PvE gear. PvPers doing PvE, this is how much we luv vengeance!

Nobody I know in my PvP guild got this survey. Nobody I know got this survey.

And these results are the opposite of what I hear from essentially everyone who's tried the vengeance mode. If ZOS is using the info from this survey to determine the future direction for PvP in Cyrodiil they're going to be taking the game mode in the opposite direction than the vast majority of PvP mains want to see it go.

I don't know how they got these results, but they absolutely ARE NOT indicative of what most PvP players think about vengeance mode. Specifically, most PvP mains will quit playing ESO if vengeance mode is mandated and is the only option.

While I think it's valid to want the feedback to specially consider dedicated pvp players, I really miss when it was easier to jump into Cyrodiil for casual players. About 5-6 years ago, you could join, ride a zerg or siege and still make a contribution, maybe even find someone at your skill level to 1v1. But over the years, it's become more competitive as builds become more optimized, making it feel almost pointless to invite friends into Cyro. I miss the social side of it, but maybe others have had a different experience.

Vengeance clearly still requires skill and build knowledge to play well, and it shouldn't be the new Cyrodiil (not that anyone's saying it will be), but Vengeance does have a much lower barrier to entry and offers more for players of different skill levels.

Edit: My point is that I'm happy to see more casual players/the broader playerbase being included in Cyrodiil feedback. Hopefully not at the detriment of the more dedicated, high-level players. I want to have a roaming PvP mode again that isn't only full of the most skilled players, but at least more of a mix.
