I just started playing again. So I am talking about pretty low level PVE Equipment.

I deconstruct non-white (green, blue, purple) quality gear, and sell white gear to NPC vendors.

if you have eso+ or many bank slot and need training craft skill line you can deconsturct
Some dlc zone and dungeon can deconsturct
Other sell

I do the same except while leveling crafting skill lines I decon white too and only sell the ornate.

I deconstruct anything with a newer style material that I don't have a lot of yet, or purple for the improvement material.

Depends if you want mats or gold. Only caveat is that if you don't have eso + then space for mats could be a concern. I've got loads of both gold and mats so I sell white and grind up green or better.

I decon everything below level 50.

At max level, I sell all tradeable set pieces that are already in my stickerbook on the guild traders and put anything that my other characters can research into the bank. Everything else gets deconstructed.
