Can we revisit some Skills?

Now that Subclassing has given everyone the ability to run everything, is there a chance that we could look back at some skill alterations and nerfs that were made to balance class budgets and to open up playstyles and potentially reverse them?

Skills like Dark Cloak, that have near zero use case as there are now several much better health based heals available to “Nightblade”?

While just one example, I can think of several instances where a class received a major overhaul of a skill to allow for a Healer or Tank, or even more DPS on a specific class that didn’t at the time have the tools they needed.

Yes. I would like to enter in Negate Magic into the lineup. Put both effects on one morph, and let the other one actually debuff the boss. I made a thread about it in September actually. My solution is thus: it would apply Major Brittle in one morph as a way of "negating" armor, and the stun/silence can go on the other. The morphs would work in conjunction as one will help to debuff bosses, and the other to actually stop damage from enemies. One morph could be called Negate Magic with the silence/stun, and the other could be called Negate Armor with the Major Brittle I also dont hate the idea of Negate Armor getting the heal (as it would primarily be used against bosses) and Negate Magic getting the damage over time (as it would be more of the damage/pvp morph) if both kept their original functions.

Personally I love dark cloak, stacking it with multiple life regen sources makes health regain instantly. Even use this skill as a subclassing skill, due to how much I like it.

Would want them to re-visit invisibility cloak though, as a toggle it's just terribly bad and not functional.

ZOS shouldn't fall into the trap they did with classes and start homogenizing skill lines.

Dark Cloak and other abilities may be niche and the Shadow skill line might be under-utilized, but in the subclassing paradigm, that should be fine. Plus there are PVP use cases to consider.

I would rather they look at the skills that are clearly over-performing.

I think the OP is suggesting the opposite: Now all classes have access to all skills it's not a problem if classes aren't identical. If one has easier access to a specific buff (or debuff, or whatever) anyone who needs it in their build can use it so instead of trying to make sure all classes have equal equivalents to each others skills ZOS could go back to giving them more variety and unique ways of doing things.

Yes, subclassing is exposing the weak skills from every class and it’s time ZOS put the work in to update them. Don’t hold your breath!

Don't forget to bring back then also power into slash or into one of it's morphs again so ppl can go reverb bash slash again which would resurrect a almost forgotten insane fun Playstyle. :disappointed:

Can it wait? Like, next year? I'm still buried with changes from subclassing being introduced on console just recently. If ZOS does a nerf to Oblivion balance change anytime soon, I am going to be so unhappy!

Yeah, that's one change that should be reverted. The current animation is too wonky. Previous was much smoother.

    Spot on; thanks!

Over the years all of the classes were homogenized in the name of “play how you want” but with the addition of Subclassing, each Subclass can be unique with people choosing how they want to play, rather than being stuck on whatever class all of their progress is on.

There are so many abilities that were changed to make classes feel similar, like adding a burst heal to Nightblade, and/or adding an execute to Templar.

Stone Fist and Blazing Shield are great ideas!

While Stone Giant gets very little use, can’t say I’ve seen Blazing Shield anywhere, in a really long time!
